Nah the actual reason is someone a few weeks ago look at them funny and they worked on the station back then. The syndicates dont know that person was transferred.

How hard would it be to take a snapshot of the station, end the round, and start new round with old station. You know, the new shift arrives and has to deal with the shit. It could provide novelty of some continuity without killing the server.

The biggest issue is most of these things are not fully fleshed out and nobody really wants to get to the meat of it and develop this stuff if it wont end up being used because station evac'd round ends basically immediatly.
