hello friends. im going to make an updated uterus station. this is uterus station: https://wiki.ss13.co/images/b/bd/Devstation.jpg
this is something similar to uterus station, but with bad changes because goons are morons: http://goonhub.com/maps/trunkmap#l=98,127,1;z=0.8 this one is zoomable
i will post my progress in this thread and ask a lot of questions for people who know anything about coding because i sure dont. ill start off with the most important question: do i have to have departmental security? will it break if i dont?

but beardbeard what is the purpose here

the purpose is that ever since boxstation replaced uterus for /tg/ maps have been bad. this is a good map that deserves to see the light of day and i will finish it and i will scream until it is put into the map rotation. this is my vow

You might want this then a bit earlier this year I went and fixed all the pathing for the map and well I was going to continue on but then I kinda stopped after this point pretty much. I plan to return to it soon but things going on I don't really have time.

By the way the FastDMM can possibly help you with certain things but its not a massively great tool at the moment that is something else that is well dead in the water right now.

Main issues with this map right at this point in time is that the pipes need redoing and certain places dont have areas anymore. This is basically start of TG (Not even joking it took me about a week to finally get it sorted properly) version of the map.

We have to steal one thing from cere. Not the disposals but the prison system. Cere's jail was just one huge place to put all the minor offenders. It made more sense then what we have now because perma is easier and more relaxed then the minor jail we have currently. You'd send the prisoners into the minor jail via a type of sec disposal.

ill definitely do this, the one thing i want to overhaul for uterus is the maintenance. its a bit empty and the goodies hidden on the station in general are sparse

ive mostly been working on just getting department floors done the past couple days but i started work on medbay this morning. jalleo already put virology in and i think the setup for that is pretty good so thats one less thing to make. debating putting chem back in research

I knew the derelict was based on an older station, but I didn't realize it was Uterus Station. Neat.

You're probably gonna want to drag-select everything and use the find/replace feature to get rid of all those fucked up atmospheric pipes. Are you redoing this from scratch with a reference or did you just resolve enough path conflicts to get it loaded into DMM?

yeah the pipes are something im just leaving there for now until ive got the floors done and new areas added. research is gonna be rough because of how much silly garbage is basically necessary to have, im probably throwing the library somewhere else to make room. jalleo was apparently working on this project before but doesnt have time anymore so he gave me the progress that he had and im taking over

I think areas have a var you can set so they don't require the generator to have gravity.

In terms of common TG stations, SM being inside is kinda the norm, with Lord Singulo being out in space being the norm.
Now, if you snuck in a prongy bit out into space, that looks like a small bomb went off in what was supposed to be a Singutesla containment area, with some mapped-in wires, and included random parts that couldn't /quite/ get a singutesla setup done, but would certainly help out with some engineering work and cargonia, I'd say it'd be a good 'nuff nod.

Fluff it lore-wise as a refurbished relic station, and maybe add a z-level in lieu of the derelict as an asteroid mining camp?

and it doesn't make any sense that every station should use the same engine. especially if it's a throwback map like uterus.
