Also Cedar, you can still do it, it's just a little bit harder stop whining.
Acid is removed from sprayers. That literally makes spraying it impossible Oranges. Its right there on the list. Unless you're suggesting the real solution is to rush up to a wizard at touch distance and throw beakers in his face.
That is exactly what I'm suggesting

Then I can suggest that your suggestion is stupid.

wizard robes are acid proof though. Also more importantly, the gem hardsuit, which is also acid proof, still lets the actual DAMAGE of acid through. How does this make any sense, no matter how you think about it?

Why don't we just re-nerf it to the level it was a few weeks ago. It's been that way for months and nobody has cried about it until someone un-nerfed it to old style poly acid.
Still allow it to be sprayed, but it be weaker.
(Personally I fucking love having pre-nerf poly acid again, it makes the station feel dangerous rather than how safe everything is now days)

You take damage on the exposed parts of your body. Individually. It used to be that if anything on you survived the acid, you took no damage, now a helmet only protects the head.
You will only take damage on an area of your body if the piece of equipment covering that area breaks, from the acid. (however, if you see a piece of equipment break, it just saved that area from acid, however if you're being spammed with acid this probably won't matter)

Looking at your test case of the Wizard's hardsuit, you're wearing an Unacidable helmet and an Unacidable suit. this protects your head and your chest from acid, your shoes and gloves will still be melted off and burned.

I'll look into having the suits that visibly cover more areas than their slot protect those areas from acid, it's not a hard implementation.

One of the draws of the Wizard Gemsuit is its acid protection, which has always been a oft used anti-wiz strategy.

It gets annoying when suddenly half of your inventory is destroyed forever, more so when wearing the HoS Armour. The sooner the idea of having acid simply reduce armour protection, the better. Also, I should not have my ID Card/PDA melt so quickly, I would suggest that either ID Cards cannot be acided or they are the last items to be melted.

I'm concerned about acid in its current state since I've seem numerous cases of "ic in ooc" of people getting frustrated over poly acid. Not just a isolated case but several cases over the course of a week or so, its clear acid in its current state is causing a lot of frustration with people.

My final suggestion is to make acid harder to make, such as having to acquire a mineral to make it or something akin. Last time I checked you can make acid around round start.

New PR is up.

The jist of it is, if a piece of clothing LOOKS like it covers and protects a body part, it now does.
This should fixes confusion acid damage leaking through armour (when really it was just a misunderstanding)

Are you referring to the items being worn, or on the ground? because if it's melting on the ground, that's intentional.
If it's while being worn, with armour still there to "protect" then that's an issue, yes.

EDIT MORE NEW STUFF IN PR.
Inventory slots that are internal (Ears, ID, Pockets, Suit storage) are not melted until the armour covering them is melted.
Inventory slots that are external (Backpacks, Belts, Hand held items) melt regardless of armour, as they are not covered by armour.

The mere concept of an acid melted backpack makes me angry.

Yeah, getting all your shit utterly removed from the game is 10/10 annoying as shit. Now that acid can't be used in sprays though, it's really only going to happen from acid nades. Or an op with a chem thrower, but then you're fucked anyway.

The admins hate it they get admin helped about it all of the time, hell one admin had even said that he couldn't see anything between the alerts he was getting from the acid antags antics, It spoils a round. It takes any sort of chance away and it makes things pretty much easy for an antag. A man in a chicken suit with lube and acid murdered the whole station as an example.

Recently a ling acided everyone in the maint tunnels getting away from a radiation spike, I was antag and he literally destroyed any chance of me being successful in two clicks. He's killed and absorbed 4 people in the span of 7ish minutes.

It was nerfed before in this community for a reason, not only is it irresponsible to un-nerf it after it was agreed that it was too over powered and subsequently fixed. But it's treading along the lines of a gross miss-use of coding access when an intentional game breaking feature is re-added against what anyone wanted.

You imply it was intentionally un-nerfed.
It wasn't, it wasn't even un-nerfed, it's functionality was changed, and the damage values provided were wrong.
No miss-use of coding access, no irresponsibility, a MISTAKE~ Woo big scary mistake, never heard of one of those have we?
