i will suggest elder scrolls online
it is no longer terrible and you only have to buy it once (guild wars' payment model)
it's also extremely grindy if you want to get into things like veteran trials and arenas
i spent two weeks grinding out pieces of Sanctuary gear to join a vet trials group and they fuckin ditched me the cunts

oh and there's also the mage's guild, vampirisim/lycanthropy, fighter's guild, undaunted pledges, a 3-sided alliance war, a main campaign that's taken me months to get halfway through full completion, several DLCs with wonderful abilities and storylines (including the clockwork city!), an expansion into ye olde morrowind, and the subscription service gives you an infinite storage craft bag

I've been trying to hold myself together but I'm starting to break.

I already posted about my parents divorce. My mom moved somewhere on her own and no one can get in touch with her. My dads cancer was far worse than his shit doctor thought. He will live 5 more years if he's lucky. He had me come and read his will, then made a comment about suicide. Plus my stomach I can't afford surgery for is keeping me up at night and making me miserable overall. My coworkers and friends have noticed something is wrong because I'm usually a goofball, but now I'm pretty quiet. I've only spoken about it here and with my best friend. He cheers me up and makes me feel normal when we're hanging out. When we're not though, especially when I'm alone, it's awful. My mind is all cloudy and I just want to cry. I don't feel suicidal, just hopeless and dead inside.

I'm sure someone will call this an attention post but I just need to vent. I try to keep my personal life private which is why I've only told one person I actually know about it, but it's hard. I try to fake being normal and even my boss can see something is wrong.

I've tried lucid dreaming but I've never gotten any imagery. Though, my dreams appear to be more like just "ideas" as opposed to actual imagery. I'm also only able to remember the dream I had immediately before waking up.

Also I've noticed something similar as well when I'm sick with something: sickness in general seems to cause me to have some weird dreams and strange thoughts before I sleep.

Strange mind.

i woke up this morning to my dog having an epileptic fit
today he has had four, to my knowledge
took him to the vet to get checked out and he apparently had two more while they were trying to install an IV and take bloods
he came out on a stretcher and had to go to another vet that can provide overnight emergency care
he is under a constant feed of diazepam to settle what the vet called
a "cluster seizure"
i've had a cluster headache and that wasn't great so please imagine your entire brain lighting up with randomized electric signals causing constant and extreme pain very quickly
now please imagine that happening four to six times
now imagine spending a night under that constant state because that's what my dog is doing right about now
if he doesn't stabilize by the morning he will have to be put to sleep
he is 2 and he has yet to experience a christmas with my family

i don't think i'm okay

Yeah... I don't actually remember if I ever had dreams or they just stopped one day (I'm a very clumsy person so my head has been subject to multiple hits along my life) but I genuinely can't see anything if somebody tells me to imagine a beach. I obviously know what a beach is, I understand the concept of beaches and I remember beaches I've been to but when I'm forced to imagine one there's nothing. Same thing with faces... I can't actually imagine anyone's face, I know what my dad's face looks like but if you want me to describe him good luck because unless he's right next to me I literally can't see it. I want to reiterate though that I'm not faceblind. Recognising faces has never been a problem, it's just when it comes to remembering faces I don't have the minds eye to help me, I have to go through pure memory. That's okay for faces I see every day, but for faces I only see a couple of times a year it can be hard.
