Well, my dad has skin cancer of some kind. His doc said it's likely just basal cell cancer. We're hoping it's that and not melanoma. We'll find out in a week.

2017 has been a shit year.

it is strange to be the one people come to for mental help
i'm talking people down from suicide every fortnight or so, people come to me asking for solutions for their puzzles, and i have no clue how i've stayed stalwart for this god damn long
it's literally been years and i'm sure i've helped a whole lot of people
but more recently i feel like i'm worn the fuck down like an ancient brake pad
a friend who i enjoy and like a whole lot broke down through a combination of one person's shit flinging in our discord, our game server being empty, and their work essentially treating them extremely poorly
and getting them to stop, breathe and not do anything stupid has made me sit back for once and just take a good old look

i'm not rich i barely manage to buy cheap proto-games on fucking g2a but i work a whole lot and just enjoy the work, it's extremely soothing now
more recently my mind's been regularly blanking and i'll make typos where a year ago i would never have done - i used to be able to touch type Hamlet blindfolded and now i can barely handle a sonnet
living essentially on a mountain is probably doing the common headaches no favours neither is the worry that it's actually a brain tumour since it's very much always in the same place
being the one that people come to is a word that i don't know, i wanted to say disillusioned but i don't feel that way at all
there's something missing and i can't put my fucking finger on it
