the lore argument isnt about some document hidden away where 90% of players will never read it but instead about the lore we see implemented and actually present in the game itself which is the only thing that matters at all to those 90% of players

I don't think someone should hear "Hey, you're under arrest!" and believe they are allowed to follow normal escalation since, assuming the officer gives time to respond, since the officer lost the element of surprise by then.

talking to them at all about why you are arresting them is enough to make a valid arrest, so even just saying "on the ground! you're wanted" was plenty to make it a valid arrest

bad way to go about it because you'd have a stealth antag running around blending unsuspecting crewmembers which is very much not in line with the other antags that are unrestricted (loud messy guys like nukies and wizards)

you're supposed to make a queen then dump a plasma can in and kill it so you can use the organs but even then its still just gamer loot that you cant even really use unless you're coating the station in resin for funsies or an antag laying more eggs

imo the two solutions to large amounts of ghosts are either admin events like interns or something forcing a shuttle call.
ideally every round would reach a breaking point where the crew needs to call the shuttle because antag plans have reached their apex

speciesism is one of the only distinct things we have in the TG setting and I think it can greatly enhance our roleplay if we just use it right. its the reason we've held onto the human-sided asimov and it can be used to create good conflicts

To be fair, the amount of plants botany has to grow for the DNA vault is soul-crushingly agonizing and requires 100% of their attention. (And trays too!) Having somatorays mitigates it only slightly. If anything, your example goes back to the T4 lasers thing where it was so excessively painful ...

Once cult gets going they have eyes to check for cultists, you dont need to mindshield to check people. During revs the only options are either mindshield or beat the shit out of someone to see if they're a rev. If you dont like option A you're getting option B.
