Without replication, to me, it seems that they'll just eat a few rooms and then all get lasered to death and since they're highly encouraged to stick together, they'll all die even quicker. I prefer the old swarmers.

Unfortunately the former requires unique sprites for literally everything, unless we use filters, which we totally can but it'd just be a lot of work

The AI has motion alarms that notify them when people are in their upload or sat. So chances are, if your AI is competent enough, they're going to blurt out "soandso trying to change my laws" over comms. Also there's rarely ever more than like 3 borgs from my experience

Yes please, although just talking in front of people for favor isn't going to work that often given how antisocial your average tider in the halls is going to be. Food sect fills a good hole. None of the current sects particularly interact with other service jobs (besides pyre sect's never ending desire for monkey cubes). As Certified Sect Expert™ I have quite a bit of feedback.
Punished Sect: The only issue is psyker echolocation basically throwing your round in the dumpster. Remove it or make it not a periodic pulse of vision but rather just a purple filter over everything.

If you want to go away from the magic theme you could probably lean more into Frankenstein stuff. Electrical stuff, wicked looking metal contraptions, that sort of deal.
