Everything interesting on Meta is clustered and just far enough from Sec for anything REALLY interesting to be able to develop. Icebox is similar; it's Meta with z-levels and a bit of shuffling.

I do like Delta, but the arrangement makes it much easier for you to get run down by Sec, and the high activity zones are fragmented. The bar and kitchen being in such an immensely big area that's also so far from medbay and dorms significantly stifles interaction.

Tram has the same problem; the bolted doors that 95% of people hack open permanently also just seem like an afterthought to encourage people to use the dogwater tram that eventually becomes slower than walking as TD builds up. Once the Tram becomes unusable, you don't have anywhere to run from Sec after your shenanigans, so you're left to get robusted, arrested, or forced to murderbone.

Northstar is a good design, but the lag is so horrible that people struggle not to hate it.

I personally like Birdshot, but the bar being so far from medbay and right across from Sec is like, kind of a buzzkill. It only stays interesting if Sec isn't full of a bunch of buzzkill power trippers (CHALLENGE LEVEL IMPOSSIBLE?)
