Ash walker unique vendor & coin press
My idea is as follows
Within the ash walker compound is a vendor, it is essentially just a front door of a steel locker attached to a upright cairn with some beady yellow eyes beaming through a little slit entrance. Its not a machine that draws power but can be dragged away for amusing station usage.
Inside 'aesthetically speaking' is a merchant who has shop UI to buy specific sets of things for coins. The base would also require a ore redemption machine and a coin presser. (meaning that aside from some small time loot, most of the crates junking it up can be thrown out)
Basically as a sub-objective of the ash walkers existance, they can go around picking up minerals, returning and processing them (for obvious benefits of having materials to work with, such as crafting bolas & such) and then coin press the end results to pay off the vendor for supplies. Not quite golem'esque R&D but adds depth. Adding unique items to the ash walker vendor may also spice things up, for a virtually unlimited supply of pickaxes, mining bags, spears and other trophies/useful objects.
Money purses could also be a thing for containing personal lizard wealth. Think lizard game of thrones.

Maybe just make them refine their minerals by welding torch, with additional fuel for sale from the vendor. If you squander it all you have to go rob some smoothskins for their tools

Wouldn't quite work since plasma & material properties dont exactly stretch in the same way (Not going to scratch uranium/diamond, probably damage gold/silver and plasma would just melt + the fact it would require immense heat from a welder to do so)Wyzack wrote:Maybe just make them refine their minerals by welding torch, with additional fuel for sale from the vendor. Its practically a abandoned mining shack correct? So if it had a orm or some kind of rudimentary fuel based furnace inside (going for a basic theme) you could do it that way. Without fancy ID logging, coins are pretty much the only way to go for vendors.
Also fuel canisters would litter the landscape if we paid for fuel.

I reluctantly stand corrected. Orm or even a rubbish furnace that takes raw plasma/wood for fuel (from towercaps fed on prime goliath meat nutriments) would still be more economic

Teeechnically if you raided mining base supplies, you could find welding fuel supplies or raid the in built furnace (its a pity the tendril cannot be removed, recreated or replaced short of telescience)
But half of the time with ash walkers, the base will be very far out and station crew will be alerted to kill you very quickly making a siege unviable when you do eventually bring the thunder with numbers. In hindsight, this thread allows self sufficiency (also buying fuel tanks may cause them to explode in lava so chasms would be required) and especially when merged in advantages of the new cash-cargo, slaughtering ash lizards and stealing their wealth & coin presser can net resources.

Suggested Ashwalker Tendril Recipe
> Fusion orb (buyable from the vendor, relevant to making bomb resistant goliath plate cloaks with advanced sewing kits from PR notes)
> A ash-walker egg (can be sterile but newly made ashwalker eggs will not be)
> Metal frame
> & a intert/active legion heart
Suggested Vendor list
> Spare tools and spears (Pickaxes, Shovels)
> Fusion orbs (reason for the crew to steal these vendors if they are not typical loot)
> Fuel Tanks
> A toolbox/toolbelt full of tools
> Brute/Burn boxes
> Advanced sewing kit (From the goliath cloak PR being worked on by another guy, i assume this can manipulate skin, so skinning prey on a rod-rack before offering might be a thing for making coin bags/purses and other trophies)
> Surgery tools (for the surgery table nearby in which to implement hivelord health stabilisation/tail removal for sewing/anything else)
> Necropolis Blessing box (contains a orm/autolathe/Mining vendor if you can't loot your own in a wrapped locker with the parts to construct each, could be split up into seperate purchases with a box filled with each individual parts but the machine and wires you must sort yourself likely from toolboxes at the vendor)
> Sterile ashwalker egg (for building a necropolis or vendor without it bursting in your face)
I can't imagine a way to placate ash walkers entirely (most likely to do with asserting dominance over a built necropolis to align it with yourself), but if a traitor miner needs a distraction, placing a ashwalker nest could be viable way to raise hell station side or a ambitious project to integrate ash walkers as meaty golems.Ashwalker Vendor construction
