A changeling "Fix" Suggestion

A "problem" with a lot of antagonists, is that they suck at combat. The average player will not be great. Every other antagonist though, has ways to compensate with this, by giving them other people who can be more competent's help
Traitors have holoparasites, who can turn a lowly robust person into a killing machine if the holoparasite is good
Ops have Syndiborgs.
Wizards have necromantic stone, Soulstones, apprentices, and Blood Demons
Malf AIs have borgs, kind of.
Blobs can split off.
The exception is Changeling. There's a way of fixing this, that goes along with existing mechanics, as well as supports absorbing creatures.
After absorbing a person and getting upgraded spread infestation, for each person's DNA you absorb, you will produce an intelligent spider, who has to listen to you. This spider can also listen to changeling chat (?)
