Require a modicum of professionalism in official admin communications

Post by iamgoofball » #756187

A recent ban appeal involved the following official statement from an elected Headmin at the same time as announcing that the details and decisionmaking behind an administrative decision would not be revealed to the community at large at this time:
Fortnite sussy balls AMONGUS drip Nokia ringtone Arab remix imposter skibidi
This completely undercut the sincerity and professionalism of the entire decision, and makes it seem like the headmin team isn't taking their job very seriously. I think it's a bad look as a community and we shouldn't be slapping stupid shitposts into what is otherwise serious business decisions being made, allegedly, for the benefit of the community. How are we supposed to take you seriously or at face value when you're ending your decisions with fucking among us fortnite skibidi?

Please institute a policy requiring basic professionalism from administrators in situations like this. Admins are representatives of our community, and it just feels kinda shitty to have bargain bin shitposting slapped on top of what is otherwise a serious decision. I didn't think we needed to explicitly codify this, but evidently here we are.

Do not discuss the actual appeal. It is irrelevant to this policy discussion. I will report posts discussing the actual appeal.

I actually appreciate the headmins (and scriptis) being able to be chill, likable, approachable, and jaw with people and meme around. Reminds me we're all playing a pixel game together

I trust the headmins to read the mood of the room and hold the fortnite skibidi when necessary, i dont think it needs to be codified, and if headmin gets elected on the skibidi ticket then you get what you deserve tgstation...

if there are some chillmins it's way easier to bring up an issue to them or message them rather than feeling like I'm bothering a highly important Officemin

I agree, blurting out brainrot bullshit during an appeal is both disrespectful to the person appealing and only brings down the level of trust and the general expectations of being a headmin
