Ban reason and length: You, or another user of this computer or connection (arty23) is banned from playing here. The ban reason is: As a non-antag scientist, opened a heated plasma cannister and killed a fellow scientist. Please come to the forums to explain what happened ASAP. (I assume that the ban is permanent since I am unable to re-join, but I'm not really sure)

Your side of the story: I was a scientist named Jade Ping. I wanted to try a branch of science that I had never done before, so I decided to make an escape challenge in the testing room with a few tools and ways out. I found the bartender and introduced him to the challenge, which he reluctantly acknowledged and decided he would check out. I got him scanned in to genetics and put him on anesthesia, buckling him to the chair in the room, and I allowed the test to begin. The idea was this: If he did not escape in time, I would flood the room with plasma and kill him, so that he would be regenerated in cloning. When he completed it successfully, I suddenly felt the urge to be a shit (hey, first actual ban in two years of the game. i'm proud of myself) and decided I would kill myself in the chamber. I turned on the canister and ran in, forgetting that the escapee had opened the window. With a facepalm, I retreated in shame after causing a huge plasma flood and killing way more people than I had intended.
Why you think you should be unbanned: In my two years of playing this game on-and-off, I am still a complete amateur at anything science-related. Recent accidents included injected plasma into gold slime extract and fucking up with toxins mixing. While releasing the plasma was not an accident, it's escape from the chamber and the chaos that ensued absolutely was. This was honestly complete shit and I understand if the ban is not lifted, but I urge you to consider that this is the first offense I have ever received a considerable ban for. Also, if I get back in, I'm never doing science again. I'm a pariah when it comes to simple mechanics and I have a tendency to try to kill myself when I'm bored. Also, admin bwoinks scare me and I would try to avoid any situation that results in them if possible. That shit almost gives me a heart attack.

By the way, I have tried the account linking service on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome and it still has not worked.

I am not worried about what happened with the barman as you seem to have had IC consent. This is more about the fighting that happened in science, resulting in you opening a plasma cannister and getting other scientists killed.

The reason why it was a perma-ban is to make sure you see it, forcing you to respond on the forums, which is standard if you have logged out at the time of the ban (you had logged out very soon after opening the cannister).

Obviously we do not appreciate play that has non-antags kill people with little reason and especially in ways that can damage the station and possibly lead to many casualties, however the ban has lasted long enough and I feel has served its purpose of bringing your attention to this fact.

I have lifted the ban and would like to consider this resolved unless anyone else would like to add to this thread.
