Humans are not actually defined in the wiki silicon policy.

I understand that in silicon policy, humans are all the beings that when scanned with a health scanner, it says human. (I think) Plus all the stuff thats on the table inside the wiki rules.

It doesn't actually define the first part in the wiki silicon rule page!

There is a table that explains what is human and what is not, however! It does not include a basic ass, obvious, human in the chart.

It defines everything as human or not, apart from humans. I hope this makes sense.

It also says all syndicate traitors are human in the chart. Some will not be human, obviously.

This needs to be fixed!

The Wiki needs an overhaul in general. For a game so reliant on having external sources of information, tg's wiki leaves a lot to be desired. There have been countless times where I can find no information on something when looking on the wiki. Even when I do find something, it could be incomplete and not help much. I would happily join a team of people to try and catalogue as much as possible for ease of players. There is no reason why information should be as gatekept as it is.

Fun fact; you can go edit the wiki right now. Since they're the same website, every forum account also works as a wiki account right out of the box.

That's good to know! I may take a look and see what I can contribute. I can't promise anything because I do have a lot of gaps in my knowledge, I am in no position to write guides on just about anything. I've been trying to get better at reading the source code to find how certain things work, so that may help, and I can spin up my own server for testing so I'll see what I can do.

Adding a definition to "human" is pointless when our objective is to make silicon policy shorter and easier to read. If a player doesn't know what a human is, then maybe we should suspect them of being a robot!

The table is basically saying that being a Syndicate Traitor does not make a non-human, which applies adjacently to magic users. Maybe the table could be slightly change to reflect better this aspect, but I've never seen anyone say "Well, the table says that Traitors are human, so all Traitors are human", so I don't see urgent issues, or even necessary changes, with the current form of the Silicon Policy regarding your suggestions.

You can't on some pages if they're protected, You'll have to bother an admin to make those changes.

Plato defined them as a featherless biped. I think we should make that official policy

You can ping me in #help and I'll harangue the headmins until they update it.

That would make catbeasts human. Lizards and plasmamen, too. Even mechs. Golems would suddenly be human.

Well yes, obviously we'll need to add feathers to them.

Why can only headmins edit protected pages? why not ALL admins?

Because we use protected pages for policy reference. Stuff on protected pages is actively treated as a direct ruling from head admins, so if regular admins could edit it, they could change what a rule says whenever they want for their own use.

We also don't define "order", "silicon", or "law" there because we expect people playing this game to have at least a faint clue.

We are not interested in implementing this. We trust that, besides the edge cases outlined in the rules, our players don't need the definition of human spelled out for them.
