Your side of the story: Protect station is not malicious as far as I know, this is news to me that uploading protect station is now only available to antagonists, the crew were warned about the laws and breaking things would result in them being non humaned, also the ban reason is misleading, I did not upload any one human law

its a standard law provided to command who has access to AI upload to upload, don't want to be harmed don't break stuff, it is not malicious it is apart of normal roleplay

is this law really malicious Since the only person it was possibly used on was the CMO who already was trying to break into the AI upload did anyone die from this law? therefore how is it malicious? the station already starts with non human mobs so removing human status is in itself not a big deal and hardly cause for a ban in itself and this is certainly not the same as the 'one human' board in AI upload

the paladin, robocop and corporate lawsets also non human the entire crew to a greater extent than the laws I uploaded, are they malicious? they certainly could cause human harm but no one is banned for uploading them, I have seen the AI being purged by non antag captains and not be banned as far as I know, why are my laws more malicious than purging?





Why you think you should be unbanned: the stated ban reason is not accurate nor fair, this would mean any captain cannot upload any law that may harm any human under any circumstances, it should be a server rule that only asimov is allowed then

Hey, thanks for appealing. I mostly applied the ban because you'd already left and I couldn't question the situation with you at the time. Let's go one by one here.

I'm not a big fan of how this law is worded. The concern here is that you uploaded this along with the other laws, so I documented it in the note. I don't see a problem with it in general though, so you make a fair point.

This is fine - this law wasn't taken into account when I placed the ban.

This is the part that concerned me the most. While removing humanity from people isn't inherently harmful, it does enable the AI to deal with people however they please and can be very easily misused by the captain in question. I would generally avoid uploading this law in the future unless there's a major station threat (revolution, cult, nuke ops, etc.)

There's another law that you didn't include in this that also worries me.

I feel this is a problem given the same reasons I specified above.

That being said, I will admit that I made a grave mistake - true to your word, you didn't actually onehuman the AI. I misread the logs at the time and attributed the actions of someone else to you. I apologize for the mistake on my part - I'll do better to read logs more accurately in the future.

As such, I will be removing this ban and modifying the note to a minor severity note reading as such:

"Warned - In round #152083 uploaded ProtectStation early on with no IC justification as well as laws letting him de-human specific people and labeling anyone who attacks him as non-human and to be eliminated. Player should be avoiding lawsets like this without a valid IC reason to upload them."

Does that sound fair? I want to keep the note just to specify that we spoke about law choices. A minor note is very rarely used for anything more than keeping tabs on what you've been spoken to about in the past.

thank you for your fairness and for unbanning me, I don't see anything seriously wrong with your note but just to say I believe that IC reasons for dehumanizing crew can develop quickly, in this round even if I didn't have a good reason to upload those laws at the start, soon after the CMO and QM are leading a lynch mob to kill the captain for uploading protect station.
