[Poll] Some Badger server configs

So here's hoping people pay attention to forum polls now maybe.

Lowpop on badger can be extremely boring without a lot to do. Metastation's maint tunnels are very much engineered towards most of the crew having maint access.

The first two config options in this poll are as follows:

- Assistant Maint: Self explanatory. Assistants would have maintenance access. Allows for assistants to be more free to do whatever they want on lowpop.
- Elevated access: All jobs get increased access as defined in their job .dm files. An example of this would be roboticists having research lab access to the protolathe, allowing them to do their own research if nobody is doing RnD (which is rather common on badger).

Please select which one (if any) you'd want enabled. This poll is mostly for server 2 players since the server is relatively lowpop in comparison to sybil and has longer rounds.

To be fair, it worked really well when it was enabled on artyom. The lowpop usually necessitates it and since people start with a lot of access at roundstart people learn to coexist in departments, especially robotics. It's not 'who has access' and more 'who's job it is to do this'

Assistant maint on metastation is mostly for the cool bar they can renovate and chill in.

Given metastation's huge maintenance i think that assisstants should be able to get in there, give em something to do. Also i think meta has something funky going on with disposal pipes, although i am sure i am not the first to notice. Is metacide still around?

Not really, server 2 dying from artyom's creation kind of burned him out IIRC. If he comes back I'm sure he can take up the helm again and that would be a big factor to people playing server 2 again.

Why are people still rolling assistant when Badger rarely goes over 25 players? There's job slots open constantly, often head positions.

Yeah the way the airlocks works on metastation is a little bit different.

This isn't a win or lose poll I'm really just gauging how much the people who play/would play on badger would like these configs enabled for lowpop. I know it really helped get artyom off the ground when you had elevated access and didn't have to steal the cap's ID at roundstart every time.

I already play Badger. Dunking people who wander into a fully staffed chemistry department to use our machines is now my favorite past time. Dunking people who go into a half staffed one is now my favorite admin bwoink. More access for everyone, but I demand chemistry start off with three space carp pets to harvest for carpotoxin and cyanide tablets.

Metastation's sprawling tunnels and nooks were basically designed around assistant maint access. While I'm normally against assistant maint access, I think the point of the map is kind of lost without it.

Elevated Access config was created for low-pop servers. Since it's a low-pop server we're talking about, it should be enabled.

He said assistant-maint should have already been enabled. (apparently somebody sent him a map with all non-maint locations blacked out, to make the point.)

He seemed willing to try extended access, but no idea if he got around to doing it.
