Today during a gang round where I was RD (not a gangster), one gang setup a dominator in viro, 300s timer or so.

But atleast the 15 range nerf means it can't just be spammed through the station from space.
Are extremely strong ambushes like these not the intended use of a gun that shoots through walls (and requires a very decent amount of time to set up, during which the entire process can be easily sabotaged)? I don't see the problem, honestly.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure xray lasers were tweaked to not damage gang dominators as much in a recent gang PR.

it was less then 5 minutes from the dominator activating, to me making and pinning the guns, getting the implant made and put in, getting there and spamming xrays for 30 seconds.

Lumi that was an incredible showing but that gang made a huge mistake that a roundstart beaker of thermite or a toolbox could have corrected. They put it against a drat wall. I have seen people just bust through walls and break dominators while the gang is helpless to stop them because they all barricaded in and the dominator could be attacked while walls stopped them protecting it. Also I only saw the clown fall to xrays rest seemed to be bomb casualties although being lasered probably didn't help. Even the most conservative xray nerfs wouldn't save a poorly protected dominator.

Gang should control the area around their dominator not just barricade into a room and hope for the best.

Gang is still a new game mode and people are figuring out emergent gameplay and counterplay. The cycle of new feature ==> people being robust with new feature ==> I DED PLS NERF is one of the most honestly toxic to the development process.

tl;dr: give it a few months, gang isn't even finished being tweaked, goddamn

It's an old feature that people have only recently started abusing, like how strong aoe flashes are.
