Opinions on other candidates?

Post by TheRex9001 » #774145

I feel like this is a good one to put out there, who do you think you would work well with? Are there folks you don't think you are compatible with?

My response:
Kinnebian: Worked with em before, recently ran an event alongside them as well so I think we could work well together, we might not always agree on policy but in general I believe they're a sensible fella.

Jackraxxus: Does plenty of shitposts but can be serious and often has some refreshing takes, I dunno how much we've adminned together but I usually talk a lot with em in bus.

Maxipat: Adminned with em plenty, has a good head on their shoulders and connects a lot with the playerbase.

Rave: Cool dude, I might not always agree with Rave but I think that plays to our collective strengths, an argument with Rave is usually productive and can give me new perspective on a topic.

Striders: Trained me, always liked their events and I've adminned with them a lot. I generally like talking to em too.

Xzero: I have talked with them a fair bit in bus and we seem to agree on a fair few points so I'd do well with em as a co-headmin.

There is so many ideas I'd like to take from other candidates it's hard to list them all. Whats important is that it feels like everyone here genuinely wants a shot at making the game better and has their own ways of going about it.

Going with the same order as rex did (since i can see all the names on my screen with his post):

Kinnebian: I vibe with em and they have my seal of catproval, don't think we ever had a huge difference in views.

Jackraxxus: Probably my first pick this elections (since voting yourself is bad manners), both level headed when needed but not lacking humor and we agree on many of the things we run on (even if for slightly different reasons)

Maxipat: Hey thats me!

Rave: I think Rave has lots of good ideas and good feel of the game from admin side, though tends to get heated and i can already find myself with him at odds about non-human heads, though hopefully it's not something that would make working with Rave impossible.

Striders: Stinky owlmin, really good min and great events, despite often coming off as goofy.

Xzero: I think having someone well in touch with MRP and their needs is very important on headmin team, so i'd be really glad to see them elected.

Iansdoor/Vents - I loved adminning with them back when they were active admin, really reasonable candidate

Rex - We admin together a lot, really would love to work with them in the future

Also wooooo 8 candidates!!!
This is a preventative Forum User message to try and stop a perceived issue escalating before it ever really starts, and does not prevent the headmins from taking a different opinion and deleting my post. No formal action is being taken. No reply to this post is necessary. If you want to discuss the matter further, use forum PMs with me, but I have nothing else to say so I wouldn't waste the time.

Other folks.

Clyde:Rest in peace.
Jackraxxus: from the few times that I went over to observe manuel as an admin, they do their tickets with consideration. They do also play alot of silicon, that boggles my mind.
Kinneban: No idea, other than their interaction with wallening merge was distasteful for me. Funny in discord and the forums.
Maxi: Very sweet out of the game and in game. They have grown as an admin from being shy and silent button pushing to taking more control over the station and its development.
Rave: Can be too stubborn from what I have heard, but the only person that came to Terry's aid during the great 20 minute round in 2022? Old terryfolk will never forget their kindness upon us. From recent interactions, he has softened up from being headstrong. I do appreciate Rave.
Striders: Passionate person and somehow thriving after so many years of folks insulting his brilliant events. He taught me what I know and I always hope to impress him.
xzero:first admin to hop over to help wallstation, so they wouldn't be hella griefed and I know during the early stages of their trialmin, they definitely questioned some of their decisions and seeked advice and that makes for a great admin.
Rex: always my vote for these, but not this time. Dedicated and thoughtful out of the terrymin. Rex has always been very calm person to interact with.

All the choices besides rave, play great deal of rounds recently. Rave has always been giving advice and keeping tabs on the team when he can.

I had an interaction with the wallening merge? I largely wasn't playing the game during that time, only showed my support for the project because it looked cool.

I am sorry, I'll take back what I said after scanning that time frame on discord and here. You made clear, how silly and unreasonable how labelling is to demean something or a group as evil. I didn't like the discourse from that timeline and man, admins that engaged with feeding, was gotten my ire about this.

Out of all the candidates the ones know the least are Rave and Kinnebian.

I think Rave cares quite a-lot about TG. Even though I dont see them on the actual servers. So though my campaigns whole shtick is "Hey I actually play and admin on the servers" I still think I could work great with them. They often have takes that I agree with

Kinnebian- I cant think of any times you and I have had a one on one talk :D So my opinion of them is mostly from general bus chatter and their campaign. I dont think there is any reason I would have a tough time working with them.

Rex- Pretty great admin from what I know. I remember one time they admin bussed me into being a malf ai at the perfect time and it was a very memorable round for me. Has very reasonable takes in bus. I would be happy to work with them.

Jackraxxus. I remember one time in character they referenced one of my shenanigans from one of my first rounds on the server using my most played static. Its fun to know they have seen me go from being a new face to where I am now. Great admin. Would be happy to work with them too!

Maxipat: Love Maxi. A nice Catmin. Very level headed takes all the time. Sometimes I get to work with her when I pop over to Terry and sometimes we get the pleasure of having her come over to Manuel.

Striders- That one Owlmin whos always at the but end of jokes in bus and chatter. Said my campaign post was fire. They are a pretty cool admin.

Iansdoor-Very active admin that I have worked with a few times. Has given me great advice in bus.

The community is lucky I think all of these people rock and would be a great pick for Headmin.

Bait thread because everyone likes getting (you)s

pbj - slain as he was too weak

Kinneb - put a ton of effort into making their campaign thread look awesome, and continues to put effort into learning headmin business (dynamic config)
Here's something you didn't know: kinneb was involved in the moth sax incident, and I won't elaborate.

Rave - I still fondly remember his term, I believe I was a trialmin back then. THE person responsible for creating our streaming program, even if I think ss13 is not a great streaming game. I genuinely believe he's capable of getting us our pop back.

Rexxer - my favourite candy admin trainer. He's been consistently running and literally fulfilled his campaign promises without even getting headmin so... skill.

xzero - he always has the objectively best takes in bus (ones I agree with).

jackraxxus - shrouded behind 19 layers of irony is a very kind and considerate gamer, aussie headmins have a good track record so you should vote for him if you wanna have someone active in one of the GOOD timezones.

lansdoor - put in frankly insane hours back when they were an admin, respect the dedication but wtf???

maxi - one of the terrymins making use of communal braincell, also plays the game so I get to grief them IC.

We've got really great candidates this election, and I hope to see them run in future elections, too.

As a question of compatibility:

Rex - I've had intriguing back-and-forth discussions with him and if we can find a groove with that I think that we'll both be putting out refined and stress-tested ideas that shine. This is just a theory.

Striders - Signaled his buy-in on me fixing pop, and honestly buy-in is the most needed thing to give a chance to anything I do to try to improve things. This kind of energy from someone like Striders is powerful.

Xzero - Ran boldly in the wake of the Wallening and has a unique perspective from seeing things at Wallstation that I think will be critical as we do a post mortem on the Wallening. Values comfort which implies he'd be a stabilizing and careful force on the headmin team.

Jackraxxus - We have good exchanges, I think. I appreciate his strong and resonant stances.

Maxipat - From what I can tell we'd cover each other's blind spots well.

Kinnebian - I want to see a Kinnebian sweep but I feel that he deserves someone more compatible than me. I think Kinneb and I both do best with steady people to counterbalance our energy, together we'd be too powerful.

Iansdoor - I love the energy. Embodying the spirit of the season by running and providing fresh points of discussion. Passionate about the community. I hope his energy sticks around. With more experience and refinement I think an Iansdoor term could be on the horizon.
