I'm Rex9001, and I've been playing this game for a few years at this point. My reason for running is that I love this community and the ss13 community in general and I wanna see how I can improve it further.
What have I done?
My list of accomplishments isn't very long but I got admin which was pretty neat, ran some events, made some maps, coded some stuff, trained my first candy(DATA ON CANDIDATE TRAINED EXPUNGED) and just recently started a new events workshop on the discord, which has been a ton of fun!
What do I enjoy in this game?
I really love the interactions and improv this game brings on. Being presented with a wacky scenario or serious one and figuring out a fast response with someone is the core of this game to me, nothing ever truly goes as it should on ss13 and the interactions and especially improv those situations result in are fundamental to why so many people enjoy this game. It doesn’t even have to be anything that grand, it can be something as simple as responding to a question like “Would you like your drink on the rocks?” Maybe you don’t because your best friend died fighting on the icy hellhole of Tamagorsh IV or maybe you don’t because you hate it when your mouth feels cold, simple interactions still allow for such a swathe of fun and interesting moments and I love that stuff.
Favorite role?
I have really been enjoying being a bartender, it’s a fun role that lets you interact with plenty of people, like making the sec team quadsec or making the sec team quadsec or my favorite moment when I had to make the sec team quadsec. In all seriousness though it’s a really fun role that can let you strike up and hold some interesting conversation, the bar is also like a real mixing point for the entire station on some maps like meta which lets you often see a bunch of stuff go down first hand
In honor of this being the 21st headmin election and for all you Americans out there I am ranking ciders from rekorderlig and nobody is stopping me. 1. Forest berries, 2. Mango-raspberry, 3.Pear. This is now the official top three.
Actual policy:
I want to make sure appeals are guided more towards a mutual resolution rather than a headmin appeal, to me a headmin appeal is the last resort if you really cannot get along. To make it clear, I don't think asking for a headmin review should be banned or anything I just want to make sure the player and admin have given it an honest shot to mutually resolve it before the big dawgs get involved, if both parties cannot make a mutual resolution arguing back and forth is useless.
More admin feedback, I want to encourage leaving admins feedback including negative feedback, I think its important for admins to get feedback and currently we just arent seeing enough of it in my opinion.
Ruleswise I still think the headmin rulings need a bit of dusting off, some of these rulings are getting really out of date at this point like "Are miners using the gluttony syringe antags?". I’d also like to trim rule 11 down to "Intentionally seeking to demean others due to their actual or perceived race, sex, gender, disability, orientation or the like is not tolerated.”, I don't think the extra is really needed.
I want to strive for being available, I don't want to be some distant observer from an ivory tower. Instead, I want to keep being there in OOC chat, in players club, on the discord, wherever.
Regarding Non human heads, Im cool with every head except cap, rd and hos being possibly non human.
I additionally want to help the events workshop a bit by adding a new role for people who want pings for events, and a new role for admins who want to be pinged by people who wish to run an event.
Config events are pretty cool, I like em, they might not even have to last a whole week but doing a shakeup every now and again is pretty fun!
I do have more to say so if you wanna know anything just give me a poke down below, or on the discord, or wherever really and I’ll give ya a response!
Thanks for reading this far!
