I apologize that my speech and behavior upset people in the discord. I thought we were allowed to talk about politics and engage in political discourse as long as we kept it civil and did not resort to insulting people by calling them slurs or speculating on their personal relationship or sexual history. To be clear I did not do any of those things but I still upset some people for my views. I do think it was a little harsh because I received no warning and there are no clear rules about what kinds of viewpoints are allowed and not allowed. Nevertheless I accept that my behavior was unharmonious and I sincerely apologize.

I'm okay with being kept out of political containment and will refrain from discussing my political views further but I would like to be allowed back onto the main /tg/ discord server so I can see updates and ask questions about game mechanics.

In response to a question about the ongoing violations of human rights on the basis of religion and ethnicities (UN words) in china, you stated that it was (effectively) US propaganda (or at least, I assume you meant as much with your repeated fixation on how it's all supposedly western countries in the signatories)

and that anything going on is not any worse than how "americans treat black people"

seems exceptionally unreasonable to state. Your arguments as to the "lack of proof" seem equally unfounded given that the statements from the UN are based on the chinese government's own records, and the fact that its statements are corroborated by other human rights organizations such as Amnesty International, corroborated by followup reports from the UN on the issue, and so on.

I don't really much care for the sort of denial and misdirection that you expressed about an ongoing mass atrocity, and thus I'm choosing to uphold this ban- and just like how when people go into polcon and say they don't believe the holocaust happened, (people have done this before) denial of mass human atrocities will get your access privileges to the entire discord revoked as well. You're free to reappeal in a year, or to contact head admins for oversight on this case.

I'm unsure about how to respond Omega. You banned me for calling the Uighur narrative into question and now you are responding to the argumetns I previously laid out and citing sources. Do you want me to respond to those? I think that is against the rules.

I understand that if you believe what is happening in Xinjiang is a mass human atrocity, I am in violation of the rules. However a year long ban seems harsh, this is my first violation of this kind, and I wasnt given a warning. Is there anything I can do to reduce the length of this ban? I promise not to talk about politics ever again.

I'm denying this appeal from the top after a few internal discussions. We have no interest in breaking the Discord community guidelines even for a nanosecond, and your apparent disconnect from consensus reality concerns me.

Come back in a year, ideally after reading a reliable source.

Western NGO's and a UN report signed only by western nations and their allies aren't "consensus reports." There is no established international consensus, legal or academic, that the Chinese are genociding the Uighurs. Compare that to the Armenian genocide or the Jewish holocaust which has an international academic consensus among historians. I have studied the issue extensively and been to Xinjiang, I resent your characterization of me as being out of touch of the international consensus. You should do your own critical investigating beyond what Western and corporate media tells you.

I also never claimed that what the Chinese were doing to the Uighurs was fair or nice, I said they were getting mistreated. You can go back in the discord and look for that. But it is obvious that the word genocide is being used to diminish China's reputation on the national stage. The people making these claims, especially countries like the United States and Israel (who signed that report) do not care about Muslims. If they did they would not invade or bomb their countries. You must think critically and deprogram yourself from the propaganda.
