Hi there! I'm Rex9001, and I've been playing this game for a few years at this point. My reason for running is that I love this community and the ss13 community in general and I wanna see how I can improve it further.
What have I done?
My list of accomplishments isn't very long but I got admin which was pretty neat, ran some events, made some maps, coded some stuff and recently started exploring further in the team as an admin trainer!
What do I enjoy in this game?
I like this game as a crisis roleplaying game, you're doing your job in this wacky place and suddenly some crisis happens! Usually as a result of said wackyness, maybe the clown told centcom to fuck off and now you have to pick sides in a station civil war over if the clown should be praised or hanged, stuff just unravels so beautifully chaotic in this game and I am here for it.
Favorite role?
If I had to pick I'd say AI or more recently bartender, trying to keep cool and make some drinks whilst the rest of the station decends into madness will never not be funny to me, its also just a good laugh to play a sort of straight man no fuss bartender and interact with the often times wackier elements of the crew.
In honor of this being the 20th headmin election, the d20 election I'll say some of my favorite TTRPGS. 1: Lancer, I love mechs, I love sci-fi, I love the combat, shit goes so hardddddd. 2: CAIN, Im putting this at 2 though I havent played it, but the art, the flavor, the lore, the theme everything just fits so well. Im looking forward to trying this sometime soon. 3: Definitely Wizards, a rules light ttrpg about pretending to be a wizard with sanctioned magic whilst you actually get your magic from another source, like being really buff and to disguise your real magic source you have to use glitter and stuff to fake casting spells, really silly short fun.
Da rule/big headmin stuff

I wanna announce new rule changes in a dedicated channel on the discord. Maintain announcement of large rule rewrites in newsbus, I've loved that in the past and I think its a good way to reach the community beyond the forums.
I want to make sure appeals are guided more towards a mutual resolution rather than a headmin appeal, to me a headmin appeal is the last resort if you really cannot get along, but usually there is an agreable middle ground like changing the expiration date on a note or lowering its severity or even more commonly rewording it, this is to say I will push to enforce rule 11 on the ban appeals forum more. Perfect example of this is

Ruleswise I think the headmin rulings need a bit of dusting off, some of these rulings are getting really out of date at this point like "Are miners using the gluttony syringe antags?" and another ruling on 'Forging evidence as non-antag Sec Officer' feels more like something that belongs in security policy since no actual headmin ruling was given on it. I'm otherwise fairly happy with where we are at in regards to our rules.
Day-to-day, I want to strive for being available, I don't want to be some distant observer from an INTERNAL DISCUSSIONS tower instead I want to keep being there in OOC chat, in players club, on the discord, wherever.
Da fun stuff

Events, I'd like players to get in more on the fun. My intent is to create a space on the discord for them (not the events workshop as that is for larger events) instead something akin to either player-dev or help-tickets depending on if players want their event plans to be more public or secretive. I'd collect feedback on this before coming to a decision. Also I'd like to award players who try to run these kinds of events with a positive note or similar. I am really interested in the proposal of
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=36223 and I think it can make for an excellent test drive of this system in action. This also links into my next point but this would be aided by coder cooperation to create a role with tools to run events but not clearance to check someones notes for example, it will of course still require an active trainer if giving someone this role.
Cross-server cooperation, I'd like to reach out to other servers and see if we can't exchange admins for an event. I think its good to keep up relations across servers through small things like this, and larger things like we did with
https://discord.com/channels/3268221442 ... 6354776138 to help the host of another server when they needed it.
Config schmomfig, I'd like to maybe mess around a bit and see what I can change. Something like increasing or decreasing the amount of low/high threat runners might be interesting to see.
Thanks for reading my points
