The full story:
This note was given to me on August 10 after I was summoned as a ghost at the end of the round to play as a spider, my master accidentally made me a passive spider (I couldn't find this on the wiki but I remember that was what I was), and I was ordered to kill the CMO or something like that.
I basically just walked around in the nest and buzzed with the other spiders when I noticed another player visible in I think xenobio, I tried breaking some walls to get over there just to buzz with the player, but they walled themself off.
I walked around in maint until I got to the other side where the player was and he was already dead and laying on the ground. The round was ending, so I hit him a bunch of times for no reason because it was funny.

The round ended and I've been playing normally since then until I checked my admin remarks and noticed that I received this warning:



I was confused because I clearly remember I did not attack and kill him, I only hit their body after they were already dead. The round was ending and I'm pretty sure the server was restarting very soon after that, because I posted a screenshot in the discord channel of the chat:

Due to the server restarting or being alt tabbed to the discord, I didn't hear or notice any admin bwoinks, so I apologize for not responding to that if I did receive it, but I honestly recall hitting their body, sending the screenshot, and then alt tabbing to click ready for the next round.

Basically, I am wondering if this note could possibly be revised or removed? I don't believe that it was fair for this to have gotten me a severe warning, and I believe it may be due to a misunderstanding. I'm not sure if these warnings can affect me in the future at all, but I just don't like the look of a severe warning in my history. I've only been banned once before on this server for 3 days because I killed someone as non antag as part of the character I was roleplaying at the time (which was my own mistake and I understand that ban), and I've never been banned before on any other SS13 server, including around 80 hours on goonstation and a couple dozen of hours spread across other servers like forge-world eupharius, stonekeep, colonial marines, etc.

After making this post I realized the players name was familiar, I checked and it is a youtuber named "Livrah"
I went to his account to see that he has a twitch account and he was streaming when this happened, so I checked the video of when it was streamed and it has all the footage:

I made a mistake by recalling myself as being a spider but I was apparently a passive carp (the green one next to the spider)

You can see in the video that his own moonicorn was the one that initially attacked him and put him down, and then soon after that, he was put into crit by that same moonicorn...

After that you can see my carp swim over to his dead body and hitting it a few times, he got really mad over this (I guess understandably since the moonicorn attacked him and put him in crit, which is annoying) and he blamed it on me

To be honest watching the video it is pretty funny that as soon he said he was with the RD I stopped attacking, but that was entirely coincidence since I didn't even know who this person was.

I don't know if because he is a streamer and he said that I was stream sniping that it affected the severity of the note, but I didn't even know who it was until today...
Someone said in the discord that you are not allowed to hit admins or streamers so if that is a rule I apologize I did not know, and I didn't know that it was a streamer that I hit, but if that was the problem then I wish they put that in the note.

Yeah, okay, you have a point about not putting them in crit, however I can't really evidence any good reason for you attacking at that time, the video footage you link doesn't really give anything further in that regard, in fact it draws attention to the fact that the player is recovering health shown by the lightening of the circular border, and confirmable by logs.

The only instruction i see here at the top that might relate to you is to "Kill metro and the AI", their eventual command about killing everyone is aimed i presume at the microbomb implanted whatever, regardless at 19:43:35 you're at 121,142,3 and this should be off screen for you.


So in short as per the note ; you're enslaved to your creator who only gave you instruction to kill a couple of specific people and you went and attacked someone else. The round being near its conclusion, or the probable hopelessness of the players situation does not grant you flexibility in following the rules.

It was left as a note as I figured you probably didn't fully grasp the nuance here, and /probably/ didn't make a huge difference to the situation's outcome, though it might have.

Ultimately as a sentient mob you're not in yourself an antagonist, you can be given instruction to act antagonistically (and if thats invalid, then thats on the person who gave you the orders, not you), but otherwise you should be following your instruction from your creator.




As for other elements of your appeal, the stream sniping comment never got expanded on much and to me it just seemed more like a sentient mob going ham at the time (having reviewed combat logs and the RDs instructions), and take discord with a pinch of salt I suppose, there is no rule about attacking admins or streamers ; a player in the game is a player, all equal, regardless of what else they might be outside of the game and thats not something you need to factor in to your play, nor is it really relevant here, largely the fact that you attacked someone teaming with the RD is why you get ahelped, most other people would just assume you're generically bad but Boris has reason to suspect you weren't given the freedom to attack them, and that does seem to be the case. I think the main rules around streamers (as a non streamer) is simply not to be watching anyone who is playing when you're playing.

I don't think there's much that needs rewording really in the note, but I'm open to specific suggestions if you have any. Sure, I understand what you're saying. I'd be happy for the note to be reduced to just a medium severity. At the time I honestly did not realize that he was still alive when I hit him, it just looked like a corpse on the floor... if I knew he was still alive I would not have hit him at all, so that's just due to me being a dumb noob. I guess if you had to reword the note then personally I would re-word the part that says I attacked and killed him, since it makes it sound like I intentionally hunted and killed an innocent player. But honestly whatever you see fit is fine, I think everything is resolved now.

I figured a rewrite of the note then

Now aware a sentienced mob is not an antagonist in its self and must follow its master's orders ; attacked a lightly soft crit player into hard crit without reason, victim was allied to mob's master.

And set to medium severity.

That work or want it tweaked any further?
