MSO banned me because i wrote following a 1 hour ban i wrote :
Also to address you banning people from bringing up stats:
"Bringing up demographics are overrepresented in stats isn't inherently bigoted, black people are overrepresented in crimes, yes, but bringing it up isn't bigoted until your imply that they're inherently more criminal.
In truth black people are just overrepresented in poorer communities as a consequence of slavery and segregation and are in consequence, doing more crime, cus poor people do more crime.
Those neighbourghoods are also overpoliced because they are seen as the source of crimes, so more crime gets caught there.
This is also true for crime stats for men, men aren't inherently more capable of killing or beating others people, but some societal factors are definitly impact that. And ignoring that because it's an uneasy reality is dumb."
In response to this he posted this ultimatum
I'd like to point out that at 7 i had my first sexual experience with a teenaged woman who was 6 years older than me. She hit me up 3 years ago, when i 17, i didn't want to meet her, i felt bad about it.
At the time of the initial interaction i still thought i was a boy, so you know, wrong person to tell this MSO.
Being a statistical anomaly doesn't make you any less of a victim, you shouldn't have been raped, that shit shouldn't happen, and i feel compassion towards you, i never at any point stated otherwise. Mso has decided that because i said that stats matters to analyze societal trends and how to fix those issues, i thought otherwise, this is wrong.
Being a minority is hard in any case, wether it's a minority in the case of sexual assault, or rape, or simply sexuality. That will always be the case, does that mean that we should say that everyone does things in equivalent proportions ? Or suffers every experience at the same rates ? No.
It's important to identify problematic behavior exhibited by certain groups, because then you can try to rectify them by affecting the source.
If black people commit more crime because black people are more poor, aid the poor to not have to thieve to live, or help black people be less poor, and the crime rates for black people will go down.
Nothing is stopping you from upholding this ban, ultimatly it's your call. But i will not say that we should swipe stats under the mat because they're uncomfortable.
But you don't need to say that to fight the people who go "41%" or "Despite X being of the population they commit Y of the crimes". Because the issue with those people is that misattribute the causes, not that the stats exist.
I will not say sorry to prevent this ban from being upheld because i think you are fundamentally wrong, i swallowed my pride before to say sorry, and i don't regret as it has allowed me to interact with more people. But i won't do it again. Either you admit this ban is garbage, or i'll happily remained banned.
