machine what turns empty cans into credits

empty cans mostly get chucked into the disposal system and get ground up into metal sheets maybe, so people don't think "oh i will collect these and throw them in disposals". i think if there was a machine that give you a credit for returning an empty can into it would be funny and encourage assistants to scrounge maintenance bins and departments looking for cans so they could afford smokes

Why stop at cans? Why not all kinds of trash? I know it isn't particularly in-line with the joke, but I think janitors and assistants being able to make a quick buck by dumping trash bags full of garbage into the Compact-o-Tron outside of cargo sounds funny.

It also very mildly lets cargo recoup their losses from buying dumpsters via Imports.

in my experience as janitorial, bottles, glass shards (usually from said bottles), used epi syringes, stray building materials like glass, iron, and iron rods (those go into the orm/lathes), and spent bullet casings.
