Help me name this dog (NAMED)

About a week before christmas, my retriever passed. Dealt with it over two months, and my house ain't the same without a big dog. Problem is, I'm an unimaginative hack with pet names - first cat was named Kitty, case in point. Help me name the little fucker.

Pupdate part deux

He's getting big, gained enough weight over the past few weeks. Has a hella bad skin infection (hence the onsie). Still a bitey little fucker, but I'm working on it. The older dog (Bella) and cat (Tiji) are getting used to him. All in all I'm pretty happy, he's a bright and talkative little fucker.

I might keep posting periodically, if it's cringe I can knock it off

So his infection is more or less cleared at this point. He got an ointment every day, anti microbial baths (pictured below) every few days and a wash that was dabbed on the wound. Thankfully we're done with that bullshit, because it was a lot for him. There was a very real chance his leg would have gotten amputated, or he'd need medicine that could cause renal failure or (strangely enough) arthritis at 3 months old.

He's a thicc boi, doubled in weight since we adopted him. Still catches me off guard, expecting a little guy then this heckin certified big boy™ trots up. He hasn't fit the jammies from earlier posts for about 3 weeks now. Thankfully we don't need to continue the many treatments we have, 'cause he was getting too big to bathe in the sink. I'm happy he's in puppy classes though, 'cause he's been a little shit lately. Thankfully he's mostly smart. He learned not to fuck with the cat at least.

So it's been several months since I've updated this (sorry). He's gone from a pupper to a full on doggo, and is finally on good terms with the cat. Tiji (the cat - say her name out loud) went from hating him to encouraging chases and headrubs. She can only handle ~30 seconds of his attention but he respects her now after she put him in her place. It's hilarious - I watched her slowly, daintily, stretch her paws out, pop claws out and just touch him on the muzzle.

The puppy dog is in good health, although he's old enough to become a little shit - many commands seem to be optional to him lately but we're working on it. I don't get out enough and I'm worried about his overall socialization. Thankfully there's a dog park, I just need to ease him in to trusting/liking other dogs. Finding toys that can last is a struggle, he lives to tear things apart. Glad he hasn't offed a bunny yet, I guess.

Where he usually hangs out when I'm home - to the left of my desk, or under it on the right side.

He's probably not getting much bigger, which is nice. Still sheds like a motherfucker, but he's not that 'poofy' compared to others in the breed.

Just a small update - my hope was well founded, he's smaller than the average golden and still full of energy. He hasn't seen snow since he was a fluffy potato, and loves it. Bonus snow zoomies. I pulled the URL from discord, as Streamable would only keep the link up for two days? If anyone has better ideas, I am all ears. Ignore the construction sounds from next door, as well as the yeti sound I made.

Pupdate: Snow exists and it is fun to play with. It is also fun to play in. That first video is effectively him first figuring out that falling snow is a thing - he never got to play in snow as a little puppy, never got to see it come down. He's probably looking for the double thick snowflake that MSO removed.

You're right, he's so big - I wanted a decent comparison so I found the onsie from a while ago. He used to swim in that thing, now it's a cape.

He is still doing well, and we are dealing well with the winter storm. The dog loves it. Still dangerously cold out, but we have ample stocks of firewood. The doggo got his balls taken about a month ago, and he's all healed up. He's 13 months old in a day or two, and due to a poorly timed vacation I need to take him to work with me, so yaaaay work buddies.

He's definitely a teenager, does not give a fuck lately and will absolutely eat anything he can access. We've had to put a padlock on his food pail and move the dishes for our other pets.

I also get to hang out with my homie at work for a week, the rest of the family is on vacation and I don't trust him enough to not shred goddamn anything while I'm out. He's a wonderful dog, but extremely anxious and neurotic when alone.
