Simply hopping to a different codebase to play on for the rest of time is a big ask, plus I'm sure they're missing other stuff that I really like. It's kind of like telling a guy who just went through a brutal divorce to just get a new wife. Sure, he technically could, but it wouldn't be the one he loved so much. The sad fact is that my perfect flavor of SS13 no longer exists, but /tg/ is still the closest by far (and again, I'm not saying that it isn't still good! Not being perfect != bad).
I hope you reconsider the idea of comparing participation in one community/server with marriage.
I've been through a lot of servers out there, it's part of the beauty of this game: it's so easy to host and code for that most small groups of people that have a vision have the chance to implement it.
And that yields very interesting results, including some really unique servers.
You should definitely try things if you're unsatisfied in your current community, chances are other unsatisfied people share your views and have already taken steps to cater for those needs.
And, if nothing else, it will make you appreciate what you have here and may be taking for granted.
