Ban reason and length: 24 hours I pucnhed a guy 7-8 times and he went into crit because he was full of toxins after he went into crit and i realized i was in genetics being used as a test dummy I guess before the power went out I grabbed him and took him to the shuttle got sproinked while I was healing him
Time ban was placed (including time zone): 10:50PM est
Your side of the story: I went afk come back to myself in an entirely different room there's almost no lighting but i see a guy near me thinking I was being kidnapped to be killed
Why you think you should be unbanned: I understand that it is not acceptable to punch people due to paranoia In the hug box what the fuck hug box is censored if you put it as one word

The reason I gave you 24 hours is that you have been playing here for almost a year (probably longer, if memory serves), and know what's expected of you. "I was paranoid" doesn't cut it, and you know it doesn't. You didn't knock him down or just hit him once or twice, you punched him seven times, enough to knock him into crit. I'm not 100% sure why you didn't just push him over and run away.

I would have normally reduced the ban due to you at least healing him, but 1) You have been playing here long enough to know not to do it in the first place and 2) your excuse doesn't hold up.

As far as the kidnapping? Adminhelp it next time. I can't do anything about it if I don't know it's happening.

Appeal denied. Wait it out, cool off and come back tomorrow.

Each punch is 5 damage. In normal situation you need to punch someone 20 times to put them into crit

If you can explain to me why you shouldn't have beat that guy into crit instead of trying to explain why what you did wasn't so bad, I will consider lifting or reducing the ban.

All you're doing now is proving to me that the ban is warranted because you don't seem to have learned anything from it.

I don't fully understand the situation here.

Coming back from being AFK, kromgar found himself in genetics research, thought he was being used as a guinea pig, and beat the crap out of the geneticist without knowing the full picture? Or was he actually being experimented on?

I don't really buy into the idea that longtime players should be punished more. It should be based on the history we have with the player, and whether or not we've had problematic behaviour with them before (Which, I would say, kromgar qualifies for).

Ikarrus' post makes me realize I might've rushed to a conclusion on this one. Let me do some more research on the logs an dI'll get back to you.

E: It would seem I have indeed made a mistake. I wasn't aware of the situation with the geneticist until after the fact. After checking the logs I've got a better view of what happened.

I'll lift the ban and remove the note. My sincerest apologies. In the future I'll do a better job of checking logs before throwing a ban around.
