For a nerd to be nice, they also have to be autistic. While they can just be normal instead, this is exceedingly rare and usually only happens in cases when they are also good-looking. To have a nerd that is not autistic, you usually have to deal with the cool nerd, who is a narcissistic blowhard and an asshole due to deep-seated insecurity. Not somebody you want in a position of power, though we have had a few over the years. "But wait!" I hear you say, "What about the good-looking cool nerd? Surely they're fine?" No! Take Troy Baker for example. These are also narcissistic blowhards and assholes due to deep-seated insecurity. But these people usually have more social capital than their ugly counterparts and don't have to settle for positions of power on the internet to get their narcissistic supply. They can experience real success provided the inevitable allegations of abuse don't tank their careers.
