Sseth-tide fotm. It's good though. Post your favorite builds and shit. I've been playing mainly Commando and Rogue classes, leaning towards Heavy Gunner rn but I'm bad so that'll probably change when I git gud.

The rogue assassin (the one with the backstab) seems really beginner friendly, since it heals every 3 consecutive shots you just need to get a decently accurate machine gun to fullheal every fight, on top of having invis as a panic button. Actually backstabbing people seems to be less optimal, although it does also heal in case you're too low to go in guns blazing.

Assassin's knife scales in damage based on health missing, it's your spot-heal ability to cloak up and backstab someone(s) to get some health back and continue SMG spraying.

Rather than use it evasively (for that use a decoy or trip mines and dash the fuck outta there) use it to get a second wind by cloaking, reloading and asessing the situation, then stabbing into a cluster of bots from behind for a big health up then continue to pew pew.

Raider is Assassin for people with low IQ's. He doesnt really have any strategy beyond pressing shift and RMB. He's super stronk as he levels up but there's just not a lot of thought going on here. Even Riot Guard or Heavy Gunner are more involved.

Hot Takes Class Guide For Synthetik

Riot Guard - Objectively the best class in the game for solo. Maybe in general. Tough as fuck, great AOE RMB move and the ability to stun people by dashing into them with his shield out is bonkers. Devs probably put it at the top of the character select screen on purpose. Start here. High-tier.
Breacher - Sucks. Gains bombs and a damage buff by charging into close proximity of enemies. These bombs are thrown, explode immediately, and have a decent enough splash radius that they can/will kill you. A suicide bomber. Trash.

Sniper - Decent in co-op with an aggro buddy. Okay in solo until you have to fight a boss. Has a drone that both marks and DELETES targets every so often, class also has built in guaranteed crits. Too dependent on staying out of combat for extended periods of time though. Low-tier
Assassin - Great class, moderately challenging to learn and play. Name and abilities are misleading. Can turn invisible and has a knife that heals on backstabbing people. Sounds cool but it's actually a trap. Play as a hit-and-run ninja with an SMG and smoke bombs. Then it's High-tier.

Raider - Another powerful melee class. Really straightforward and fun to play. Has a knife like Assassin and gets a damage boost after charging. Stab murder heals you. So charge people while stabbing them. Dont forget your Deagle though. Very straight-forward run/gun/stab/pickup dogtags. High-tier
Heavy Gunner - Hard to play well but can be fun. RMB gives you a defense buff and ammo regen. Starts with a special machine gun. Highly drop dependent as your ability just fuels whatever guns you can find/upgrade. Low-tier

Engineer - Starts out total dogshit but gets much much better with levels, class items and module unlocks. Drops a turret and gambles on recycling items, spending scrap for buffs. Mid-tier? High-tier?
Demolisher - Kinda like the Heavy Gunner for explosive weapons. Gets bonuses for using explosive weapons and items, can make things explode more. Haven't actually played this one, nobody seems to focus on it. Mystery-Tier, but probably Low for being item dependent.

In terms of FUN play Raider, Assassin, or Heavy Gunner
If you want to GIT GUD play Riot Guard or Engineer.

Scavenging is a broken stat and getting it from a level 1 upgrade box as Engineer is the difference between peasantry and godhood

Engineer's got some really neat little strats to it, I like to nab Transmute and then sell off an item ASAP for the 1/10 towards Blackjack, 10 drone zeal, and 1/3 towards a random item as well as an immediate traded random item. Selling a random item during a point where you're practically dead is also great cuz your drone will clean up a lot of messes with just the 10 zeal boost it gets. Endgamegineer having 2 drones and 20 minimum zeal is also broke

Yeah I'm hearing a lot of discussion that Engineer is the final class everyone ascends to once they've mastered all the game's mechanics and memorized what items are the good ones and synergize with the shit you're trying to do.

I'm not good enough yet to grasp that shit so I still play lots of Assassin and Raider or HG.

Fuckit I'm gonna go do some Engie runs rn and see if I can't get my IQ up a few points.

EDIT: Got Engie to 10 I see why everyone loves this class now what the fuck

They get to condense down and re-roll item drops via scrappin' and get like 50% stronger bonuses from upgrades. With some luck and scavenge up you just start accumulating a ton of shit.

The whole game is easy mode. It's just a boring slog from level to level with hardly any cool stuff happening. The coolest thing about the game is the gun art. Everything else is just subpar roguelike.

i 100%ed spelunky 2 and it is a GOOD ass game
synthetik is also pretty good i beat it as riot guard but my favorite character is probably the first green guy, the one with the knife
