This is the third iteration, the first was Nano and TGUI is the second. Fourth if you consider plain old browser popups to be the first.

I get irrationally angry whenever I hear someone call them a "gooey". It's doubly stupid because not only is gui not, you know, a word, but also nobody says "yooey" or "ooh" when reffering to a UI, they just say "you eye". So why not just extend it with a "gee"?

Get angry all you want, but I know people that pronounce USB as "oosub".

Anyway, "gee-you-eye" is made of a few sounds that don't really roll together. "Gooey" rolls through the word, and is a whole syllable shorter.
