Clwon / Mime's rght to griff

At the moment most of the people play the clown/mime as if its got a free pass to cause light grief, slipping people (usually security), welding department doors shut (usually security), exposing shocked windows... (usually security).

Apparently this is against the rules.

I've always warned players that entertainers aren't licensed greytiders and even dished out a couple of bans from these roles. So yeah, it is against the rules to be a griefer if you rolled clown/mime.

Clown is intended to slip people not in that he has a right to grief but in that he spawns with slipping items on his person and slipping within moderation isn't really griefing.

Neither has ever had a right or license to grief on this server. That is goon or nox or wherever policy, not here. Hey we had people salivating over protecting command from being lizards though, so I guess all bad ideas will have their day.

Not long ago I was playing Clown and I pulled a prank on several people, that involved baiting people passing by to come into EVA (I had legal access) and they would slip on a banana peel hidden under a toolbox, I would handcuff them with cablecuffs and then put them in a cage made of girders. When people came to the rescue, I started slipping everybody inside EVA, including myself, and building girders in front of the exit. Everybody had a laugh.

It depends if people enjoy your fun. If everyone likes your clown or mime shenanigans it should be fine. But stuff like exposing shocked grills should be a ban. Slipping is in the clowns rights though.

If people like your pranks, no harm no foul.

If your pissing people off with your pranks and they warn you to stop, don't act surprised if you get my harm baton shoved up your rear end.

I like Clowns/Mime's when they do something original or at least amusing, but when they act high and mighty I don't give it the time of day, and if that guy happens to be a admin so be it. I really loath shitty Clowns/Mimes.

There is no right to grief job.

You can play harmless pranks or jokes on others but ffs don't do shit like cuffing them, don't strip them, don't steal their IDs or weapons, and don't attack them.

The biggest takeaway is that they're meant to entertain the crew, not themselves. We hand jobbans out for people who just use the jobs to grief.

They're not exempt from security's greytide protections, either. If you steal from security or make it impossible for them to do their jobs you're going to get one of us breathing down your neck.
