Definitely an admin with nice intentions and humor, don't see a reason to not promote them.

Re: Trialmin Review: Virtual John
Gave a series of notes that I think show a concerning lack of rule knowledge or strange logic, don't remember any response to my pings on discord asking about them so now I gotta be an ass and post them here
Banned from Head of Security, Warden, Detective, Security Officer - As the Warden, killed people coming into the equipment room looking to arm up against the Wizard and killed each and every single one who came inside. Was told to gulag them initially, and killed them instead.
It's long been accepted you can use lethals as security in mob situations, especially inside the brig
Warned - As Golem, was told to cause chaos by his owner, so he set fire with gas from another traitor. Told not to resort to such methods again.
I'm very confused as to what this one even means. A golem was warned for following orders?
Warned - As Captain killed a suspected changling wordlessly and cremated his body. Misinformation was given to him and he acted on it. Said changling was infact a traitor with hulk, explaining the "adrenals". Told to double check information before acting again in a harsh manner.
There are several similar notes for killing "changelings" (or guys running around in robes during wizard rounds) without ironclad proof which is kind of the point of changelings
Warned - As Sec Officer, killed a player with a chameleon rifle. Told him to check whats happening more carefully, and future incidents will be met with harsher punishments.
While shitty behavior to kill over a non lethal traitor item, violence against people with antag gear is traditionally allowed
Banned for 1440 minutes - Banned 1440 - Killed a lawyer in the vault for siphoning money. Claimed he was a syndicate, which is ironic since he was wearing a blood-red hardsuit. When asked for a reason he gave: Reply PM from-Pmnin/(Pierre Maliverne): I believe it was my duty as a cargoman to save Cargonia's hard earned dosh that was getting stolen from the vault by the lawyer. Especially since I had the resources to do so. Please take a small break and think things through.
Banning a player for stopping someone from crippling their department is probably the most concerning one here
Permanently banned - During a nuke op round he randomly attacked a fellow Atmos Tech and killed him. Pm'd and would not answer save for "What do you want me to say". Explain on the forum, please.
I know this is not the most sympathetic case but there are better ways to deal with a new player doing random attacks (like a day ban)
Anyway the "banned for defending workplace" and "warned for following orders as golem" are by biggest concerns, they seem friendly though they'll probably be fine if they get a clearer grasp of the rules.

Re: Trialmin Review: Virtual John
Yeah, me and discord are at odds, what with pinging working every half of the time. Apologies for the no replies, but here I am!
The warden one I did as they were told to gulag and then shifted gears into lethals rather quickly. They weren't being overrun by a swarm of people, it was mainly three people coming in with (stolen, if I remember right) access. They weren't working together, but they were trying to get guns and were denied and detained by the Warden, who was told to gulag should they come back. As the story goes, they do come back and the Warden joined by the Det guns them down. I banned them because they ignored the order previously given, especially so when the three in question never succeeded in getting their guns, or fought back lethally. Do I think the Warden should be able to defend his area? Absolutely. Do I think the Warden should be allowed to kill people he was ordered to gulag when they didn't fight back? Not really.
Golem one was fun. There was a heavy concentration of plasma in R&D, and growing into the science hallway. This is a note I shoulda worded better, as my main concern was the fire encroaching upon Xeno, and thereby threatening his Master.
Captain one was mostly for the player, as at the time they were taking any chance possible to exercise their right to valid, or execute in this case. I do agree that misinformation makes for better stories and better rounds, but this player was abusing that and round after round abusing AI Laws, trying to find ways to valid people and otherwise ruin rounds.
The Sec one is also fun, as I failed to word that one properly too. He didn't kill someone else holding the chameleon rifle, he himself was switching between the practice laser and the real laser gun, and would switch between firing the two at people. The logs at the time were confusing, as it showed someone in mech bay dying from his attacks, but despite them not being a ling they survived and talked later. To this day I am not sure how that happened. Since they themselves did not kill anyone, I thought I had the note removed but I just checked and it is still in effect. Once I am done for the day, I shall remove it.
Cargo man was fun for the third time as I only applied it since the shuttle was two or three minutes away. Looking back at this, I shouldn't have even applied this as the aggressor was just spoken to about being antagonistic. I shouldn't have applied this also since it shouldnt matter how much time is left til the shuttle. This I do apologise for, and seek to do better.
The perma ban one I realised I messed up on a while later and unbanned them upon realised the policy was not to permaban them, but to message them about the note.
Sorry for the layout, I'm currently stopped on the road and wanted to address this. I don't think you're an ass for bringing this up Kor, as things like this do need to be talked about. I always strive to be better, and I cannot do that without some criticism and feedback, so I thank you for this.

Re: Trialmin Review: Virtual John
From a frequent player on bagil, he is on my opinion the kindest admin, and i would definitely suggest promoting him not only because of this aspect but because of others as well, like for example he being seen almost always administrating on the server and helping out players, as well as applying discipline on the rule breakers.
And well, i don't know much about cons... maybe, maaaybe one would be him not being around sybil or terry as often like in bagil, but i'm not so sure about this last point.
Please promote him! Having an admin like him around would be beneficial for the server.

Re: The warden note
Disobeying orders from a superior officer is an IC issue. Its valid to defend the armory with lethal force especially when stolen access is an issue.
Re: Golem note
This is one of those situations where you should only do something if the master ahelps about it imo.

Re: Trialmin Review: Virtual John
Has been very nice and considerate in all my interactions. Tries making sure things are fun for everyone, even going as far as occasionally giving fun ghost roles.
To comment on the warden situation: I was one of the people killed. Access was not stolen. Was given out via open access console after HoP/Cap left an all access ID in for people to use.
While I agree defending brig is an IC issue, warden took the bodies and locked them in sec lockers which I feel goes beyond good faith.

Virtual John really does stick out from the rest of the admin crew by being an outstanding admin. He's helpful, kind, and overall beneficial to the playerbase. I would like to see John as an addition to the staff team.
