You have been banned by gouty.
Reason: As an assistant stole the atmospheric hardsuit early on in the shift. The atmos hardsuit was recovered non harmfully and an RCD and insulated gloves were also taken from them by an atmos tech. They then hunted down the atmos tech (having aquired an EVA suit) and shot them into crit with a Kinetic Accelerator (apparently with the intention of reviving them) they took the hardsuit and the atmos tech died and was unable to be revived. Very argumentative in the ahelp and refused to admit what they did was wrong (was going to be a warning but they talked themselves into a ban) I have a feeling I don't have to tell you this, but if you feel like this ban was unjust please appeal it on the forums (though I really have no interest in discussing it further)
This is a temporary ban, it will be removed in 720 minutes.

Your side of the story:
I broke into atmos and stole the fire axe and atmos hardsuit relatively early in the shift (something like 20 minutes in) then started cruising around the station on them, eventually being disarmed and having my fireaxe stolen.
Melvin Bee an atmos tech comes by some 15-20 minutes later (don't remember the exact time frame) and starts throwing bolas and hitting me unarmed on harm intent, I spray his face with a spraycan, cuff him and start talking to him about it, all while he shouts at comms for help. Eventually a detective arrives and talks about it not being his job to arrest people, some time later an officer arrives and we talk, I uncuff Melvin personally (this all happens in the main hallways I think in front of robotics) and the officers decide they should indeed arrest me for the hardsuit, I run out of the airlock in escape and start talking to them while outside, eventually Respii Varenos (a former officer transformed into a xenomorph hunter or atleast so it seemed) comes out of the airlock and starts chasing me, he eventually gets stuck in space 1 tile away from any movable terrain and is there possibly forever, I start talking to him trying to buy his favor as I didn't wanna leave the dude on space possibly forever and decide to trust that he won't get me... which he immediately does, tackling me at first chance he has when I move close to unstuck him. He brings me back inside the station, I am cuffed by another officer and my backpack and hardsuit stripped and searched, Melvin gets his hardsuit back BUT ALSO STEALS MY RCD (PRINTED IN THE LATHE) AND INSULATED GLOVES (ACQUIRED SOMEWHERE ELSE) neither of which are even near atmos access. Respii drags me while cuffed to the brig but when he realizes Melvin did indeed take more shit than he was entitled to and that he also left my backpack with heirloom back in escape decides to just let me go. I recover my backpack and go find Melvin.
I go back to him saying he stole my shit, he simply ignores me while fixing stuff in space (some windows and airlocks slightly damaged by what I could only assume came from the now dead wizard earlier).
I go after Melvin in space out of escape now with my own standard issue EVA gear, a KA I found earlier in the cargo's disposals and the bolas Melvin himself threw at me. I start the engagement by throwing the bolas at him, which ironically catches on my own feet and while at it he moves closer to try to get the KA (I really don't remember if I had already shot it at him before) eventually I get him to crit with some 3 KA shots meaning it was either upgraded or Melvin himself already had a lot of damage. and while trying to move closer to drag him inside the airlock he spaces himself by crawling into space.
I dive after him, bring him back inside the station, but apparently he was already dead by the time I got him in, despite me trying to bandage him and failing to notice he was already dead. CE sees this and drags Melvin away from me while I strip him to get my stuff back, also getting the atmos hardsuit) that was dropped while I tried to get the gloves back (which I never reacquired) while the CE dragged him. Round end soon after but not before I kill and eat some nightmares heart.
Why you think you should be unbanned: The admin said he would originally only warn me, but apparently not being guilty about doing what I did in the circumstances I was in infuriated the person, prompting him to increase it from a simple warning all the way to a temp ban (not even a note!). Apparently you should feel guilty about video games and never talk to apparently stressed admins.

If this is your entire reasoning behind why you should be unbanned, this will likely be denied. An admin can more or less apply any punishment within reason, and this is within reason in my honest opinion. In addition, you do have prior notes involving shaky escalation prior to this, which entirely invalidates the note argument. An admin can change his mind.

Denied, he's allowed to decide what ban you get and both a warning or a half day ban seem fair

Looking back, this is a weird situation. It's a space fight that ends up with one party dying for essentially manslaughter since they died on their way into deep space, only to be rescued by the party.
I think Gouty was right to put a half day ban for something like this since it appears to be an accident (I would have a problem if it was a full day.)
I wouldn't put too much stress on the previous notes due to the mixed nature of those escalation problems, but I think the player involved should take this as a warning that they should perhaps just not resort to attacking the other player like this. I understand the death was likely an accident, but the critting was not and players need to be held accountable when a critting turns into a death, even when it is not intended.
Personally, I would have noted for this as well but I suppose there was a little bit of misunderstanding, particularly with these ahelps that occur 3 seconds after one another (likely causing a misunderstanding)

It is difficult to ask for players to be repentful for things and it is an even more difficult when that player feels that all the circumstances in their situation have not been considered.
Though, I can respect Gouty's feelings that they player was not repentful: I still think we should not be accusatory in ahelps in order to help players understand what they're doing wrong.
This is not Applebees though, my beliefs are only a suggestion as of now. The appeal is denied.
