Elona has a fucking ton of shit to it and it's so disgustingly autistic it's great but it's less an RL and more like a 2D JRPG Elder Scrolls game.

If you want to learn a classic RL I'd suggest ADOM over Nethack.

I assure you it's the shield bay, for any of the stages. Medbay might be true if you're boarding, but shield bay lets you kill them fast enough that the number of their crew doesn't really matter.

Beam weapons with hacking shields is especially good, as beams never miss, so it's literally just guaranteed damage. Most beams have enough reach to also hit the piloting room and the missiles bay on the flagship as well, and the flagship crew will have a VERY hard time repairing damage to any of these zones due to having to break down the hacked shut shield bay doors every time they move in or out. If you can beam down the piloting room you also instantly lower their evasion to 0, meaning lasers and such can also now do free shots against their unshielded ship.

Also I think I'm at like 6 wins in a row, feels bretty good

Finally modded terraria (held it off because I thought it would be difficult but no, it's easy as fuck) and am playing it with a friend using Thorium and Terraria Overhaul. Would strongly recommend. Incredible fun

That's not a spaceplane, that's a xenon-powered probe built around a glider.

No, I built mine for 130km orbit in quasi-RSS, but it had to be as small as possible.

Been replaying Invisible Inc and I legitimately cannot complete the final mission because REEE every guard has armour and I have no armour piercing abilities of any description and they all have clustered up patrol patterns that makes evasion not practical

If you pick Seed for your starter, you're genuinely smoothbrained.

I've found my preferred combo starters to be:
Archived Prism/Banks
Internationale/Dr Xu

Programs you need to pick carefully. My preferred power program is either Fusion or Dynamo, depending on what team I am running. Hack program I either use Parasite or Rapier. Rapier is very good if you're using a high-mobility stealth team (and is outright broken when paired with Internationale). Lockpick is a good work horse and Parasite is great for a team that does little hacking. Mercenary is shite, don't get it.

Internationale is the newbie crutch character but she's too good to not use a lot of the time, wireless can and remote console hacking is too good to say no to.
Archived Prism is, in my own opinion, one of the best stealth characters as her holo-disguise can effectively operate indefinitely with sufficient power and the Dynamo power program provides exactly as much power as it takes to maintain her disguise.
Banks doesn't sound too good at first but it's her ability to walk past the red doors with zero effort and stun guards for longer with her paralyzer is what makes her a good scout.
Dr Xu I underestimated for a long time but I eventually came to realise when confronted with a level 5 safe with a Daemon installed on it, being able to just turn it off and nab its contents for basically free is extremely powerful. His shock trap is great for locking down an area and dealing with the pesky armed guards as well.

rush them fuckin mechanical bosses and get that clentaminator quick (or do it the long way and buy a billion purification bags. if you clean up just your house and around it enough to not be in corruption you should be good enough until you get to the clentaminator)

Got Battletech on Tuesday, already put in 16 hours into it.

Stability damage bonus LRMs are brutal. Knocking down heavy mechs over and over again is a great way to get some good salvage, since headshot or pilot incap mechs give a full three pieces of salvage, making it easy to stock your mechbays real quickly.

Disregard light mechs, they aren't worth the meat to operate them when they can get dropped with a single good shot. Yeah they stack evasion easily, but all it takes is one good PPC to rip their leg off.

It's pretty easy to punch the crap out of everything. Rip some armor off a light mech, and you can punch them to pieces easily.

Nothing is as satisfying as punching an assault mech in the head.

Its harebrained I threw my money at them. And I barely noticed the gendering thing, then noticed while going "huh neat" at the novelty then moved on with my day like a rational adult. Been having fun though only a couple hours in. And curbstomping mechs is funny.

Reed's a motherfucker though he keeps stealing all of Sloan's kills and seems to never miss. I've seen him get a kill on an enemy with a 6% chance to hit.

Sarah's just there to shout at people to move faster and can't aim for shit

Sloan's a great shot but he does do my head in, like when he missed a 96% chance to hit

Lindsay keeps getting friendly fired by Reed and occasionally Sloan. Might be a habit they have
