Why are you so basic?

Laptop full time is fine, no keyboards, USB hubs and fit in ok with work and expanded learning opportunities (see:university drop-outs) but they only survive with cooling pads, its typically the cheaper option.

The real question is why isn't this on Craigslist already.

Laptops without metal support in their frames are concerning.

Mine has a metal back to the monitor and metal sides to the computer but a not that great plastic above and below that. Some way to cool them is a must, as Fwoosh said, if you enjoy high octane processing for more than one hour. Cleaning them out once a year is mostly straightforward.

Im pretty sure mine's all plastic, gotta get around that planned obsolescence they put into all these economical laptops bro, there's a number of different options and typically they are good worth for money, getting through cooling pads which are easier to open up and clean without risk compared to opening a laptop to find a shitty probably corroded fan and the costs of replacing pads/accessories vs replacing laptops (especially given its a pain in the ass to backup, transfer and re-install whatever you have).

Heat sinks

> Pad heat sinks, ideally with more than 1 fan they'll draw hot air away from the laptop, mine was under £30 pounds off the internet and works great and is mostly pretty basic (does make the surrounding room uncomfortably hot sometimes, not that you really want to for a cheap AC anyway)
> Fancy ass plug in heat sinks (claim to draw the air directly out of the laptop by attaching directly into ports in the side, check for those ports first before buying, i've never seen them in action)

Fans to just try to cool it (dont' recommend these, sinks seem to be more effective) just blow air, my last one got corregated to shit and i couldn't exactly open it up for maintenance but it was bargain basement.
