Disguising Quality of Life Suggestion

Post by Erbbu » #39340

Changing clothes should immediately swap whatever is already in the given slot with the piece of clothing that you're putting on. This would make changing jumpsuits not an arduous task and promote more stealth approaches to antag gameplay. Particularly changelings would benefit and might actually infiltrate other crew positions more often.

Edit: Wrong forum, please move to ideas.

Similar but related note, it would be nice if getting demonkeyed would properly return one's name. I've only seen this once so it may have been a bug, but after turning back into a human (via DNA injector) I was left with no name.

The related part here is that using an injector (or being a changeling with lesser form) and standing on a pile of things will automatically equip as much as possible from the pile. Its entirely possible to beat the captain into crit, steal their UI, monkey yourself, and then SE back as the captain after stripping all of their gear off (probably by monkeying their gasping body)

Why make change of clothes being even more ridiculously instantaneous than it already is?

Alternatively, being able to put items/attach your ID to a different jumpsuit before putting it on? Like, basically a two-space container you can also clip an ID/PDA to.

Course, I can just imagine it now, some guy racing down the halls from an enraged Sec Officer as Jose Jeffers, Asshol-istant, only to turn a corner, yank a spare jumpsuit with the (oddly unseen) "Donald Cuervo, Nice Guy Botanist" ID on it from some hiding place, slip on the pumpkin mask he had hidden in his satchel, and ditch his old gear, all in under five seconds, but that kind of quick-change could be interesting.

/vg/ has a fast equip replace system that someone just needs to steal.
I code for the code project and moderate the code sections of the forums.

Feedback is dumb and it doesn't matter

Right now changing clothes requires a lot of clicking and inventory management that could be just skipped altogether.

Because being able to change your jumpsuit while running from security so they don't notice because you did it in an instant when behind a corner is so fucking needed.

Come on, changing clothes is not something you should be able to do easily. It's not even often, if ever, required.

By the way, click+E doesn't take much time anyway.

I think it'd be neat if jumpsuits were containers for various items. When I take off my pants IRL the stuff I have in my pockets doesn't come rocketing out onto the floor (just my huge penis honk).

We would need to add some kind of delay to getting dressed/ undressed though (similar to stripping others) otherwise things get stupid like people have mentioned above. Being able to change your entire outfit and ID in the time it takes to click twice is bad.

Sure yeah, a small delay would make sense so that not everyone can do the same trick traitors with chameleon projectors do.
