what i meant is that the people should be the ones that decide whether feedback is shit or not, especially if we get public logging like Aurx suggested, instead of admins

if its an OBVIOUS shitpost, like:

then sure, remove it. but a collective of "shitposts" might just mean said admin is doing something wrong (unless, of course, its just a bunch of alt accounts) but a collective of positive one liner posts might mean said admin is doing well, and its up to the admin to ask these individuals what they mean

for example:

player: your cool
admin: why?
player: well, you helped me out one time in adminPM when i was just a scrub tier newbie
admin: oh, ok

or

player: you are shit
admin: why?
player: you once did this really bad event
admin: how was it bad?
player: it killed me at round start ;(
admin: ok, ill stop



not every is going to write up a huge fucking format for every bad or good experience they have with an administrator to make it prim and proper so it doesn't get deleted (aka admin complaints board)

Why did Brotemis's posts get deleted? They weren't any more hostile than his usual, which is about equal with HG's and mine.

Were actual users complaining about the admin feedback and steno boards, or just admins? And when you guys say "We decided in adminbus" what does that really mean? Who brought up the idea?

Both posts had straight up namecalling in them, totally unveiled insults.

I believe it was HBL who floated the idea. I consulted the other forum admins, and MSO said it was up to HBL since game admins control FNR.

I don't even care anymore. If I was an admin I wouldn't want to be accountable for my terrible interactions with players either. When players act like shit in admin PMs and act aggressive they get banned based on that alone. When admins do it nothing happens even though they're the ones that are supposed to remain neutral and level headed and the pissed off player who either just got griefed or is being accused of something he might have not done is not allowed to be a little pissed.

My point of view is that most 'feedback' is non - specific comments that basically boil down to 'He ban me. He suck.' Or 'he event me. He good.'

The feedback forums were a joke from beginning even if well intentioned. Its admirable but futile in the end if feedback devolves into nonspecific compliments on one end and name calling on the other.

Basically is there a better option than a 'admin feedback' forum? Or are people going to be willing to post actual feedback. None of this 'pile of shitposts amount to something.' A pile of shit is still, at its very base, shit.

Stickymayhem had generally positive feedback, but is one of the only people to have gotten in trouble for misconduct in quite a while.

I left him negative feedback calling him unprofessional and unable to resolve conflicts, it was promptly deleted as a "thinly veiled ban appeal" by Pandarsenic/peoplearestrange(forgot which).

Even though it made absolutely no mention of any ban and it was Stickymayhem himself to make it about one. Week later he gets banned for just that kind of unprofessional behavior.

Similarly to how admin complaints get instantly locked and argued "you must ban appeal your 15 min ban first even when it's over already", admin feedback was a place of positive encouragement with an iron smile. :^)

This is sort of ironic because (to actually answer HBL's question) I was going to point out Brotemis' thread, at least for a little while, as an example of players giving detailed/constructive criticism and the admin actually responding to it in turn.

I think I made it abundantly clear that I did not care what feedback was left for me when the board is open. Not seeing the board at all is a convenience; people who think it isn't waste of time can moderate it instead of me.

Yes, deleting it then bringing it back but making a group for people who want to ignore it is farcical as hell.

Like I said, admins who don't want to view feedback don't have to, they aren't the types of admins who would benefit from it in the first place. We DO have admins who like feedback though.

Additionally, your thread should remain open. Even if you don't read it, people might have stuff they will want to get off their chest without PMing you directly.
