layer it on top of the player's hand and it should work fine
these are separate from the arms so that they work for gloves too
arm sprite:
replace the player's arm limb with this, so that the hole in the hand is visible. Layer the above hand over it.
inhand sprites
how it work:
press "use item" or use your hand on itself (same thing)
you get a NODROP item which it just you doing the hand thing
you get this message: You form a circle with your [left/right] thumb and forefinger.
if someone examines you with the circle: [name] looks at your circle!
if you hit someone with the circle hand: You bop [name] on the shoulder!
if you examine someone with the circle:
This is [name]
They are wearing a [whatever]
They are wearing a [whatever]
In their left hand, they have a [whatever they're holding]
In their right hand... whoops!
They are wearing [whatever]
