Resetting Clock Cult Converted AI Produces Error

Post by Steelpoint » #308014

I never knew in my first real game of Clock Cult that they can out right convert a AI to their cause that renders them 100% unconvertable (which is lame), I expended a lot of time and effort on trying to reset the AI only to eventually discover (more when the AI taunted and accidently told me I can't reset it) that its unconvertable.

My proposal is that anyone attempting to reset the AI should be given a error report (fluff can be whatever) that essentially acts as a tell that the AI cannot ever be reset.

This would be a positive addition as it helps the player understand the state of the AI and further emphasises in game that converted Silicons are unconvertable.

So the inability to speak GalComm and brass framing, along with an antag law 0 is insufficent to convey this?

None of those are visible unless you are in its core.

All other AI hacking is reversible.

OPs suggestion is good but likely obsolete soon

Why would it be obsolete soon?

Not sure what Xhuis plans for converting of silicons for the new clock cult but triggering pseudo malf while the station is trying to begin its asault sounds like too much of an make or break play for clock cult if its left in

Silicon conversion is still going to exist, just not be mandatory. You can go the entire round without converting anyone, for that matter, although it'd probably be more difficult for obvious reasons. I probably won't be touching the clockcult AI because of this, although Joan might as she's the one maintaining clockcult in its current state.
I'm an ex-coder for /tg/. I made the original versions of clockcult, shadowlings, revenants, His Grace, and other stuff.
I don't play, code, or participate in the community, but I occasionally post dumb stuff in the hut.
