Answered ahelps really quickly in game and dealt with them in a friendly to the point way. Both communicated well and made me feel like my issue was properly dealt with.

I haven't seen you actually playing since you got back. Admining, yes, but not playing. I think if you played more you'd have a better grasp on concepts like 'escalation', 'players not being omnipotent', and 'act like an antag get treated like an antag'. Maybe then we could avoid stuff like this or yesterday's gloves incident, which I feel compelled to make a complaint thread about involving how you handled it.

From what I gathered with you during our foray together, you abruptly banned me after a minute of silence from you during a recent round, you seemed really disrespectful while I was trying to be nice with you. It feels like you didn't really care what I had to say in the matter, making it look like you were going on a power trip for an offense that was always considered IC. You seem like an awful influence on other administrators if this is how you usually treat players.

It was an in character issue that was resolved with all of us going to perma and you still decided to stick your nose into it, was it because I didn't immediately say I was sorry? You never answered my question. You cut straight to the chase and just banned me, along with one other involved and another who got a warning. The way you responded to me with this post makes it seem like you're acting high and mighty, again, not a very good way to act as an admin, especially one who is supposed to "train" other admins. You should really evaluate your words and work with players who are willing to discuss in game issues rather than give them the silent treatment.

You were a dick for no reason. Just because you think your IC punishment for your actions was enough doesn't make it so.

I facilitated another election successfully and then made some decisions that will make the next one much better.
I also got mad at the headmins and made a thread which then kinda got us public logs, sorta.

I think I'm doing OK. No one has complained about me in a while.

Could you explain your reasoning behind the recent ban with the captain killing a guy trying to break into the HOP's office during a rev round? Who was the guy breaking in?

I'm not disputing Sticky's lifting of the ban, if headmins want captain's to have more leeway then that's fine with me. I'm just going to copy and paste what I had posted in IRC to explain to Sticky why the ban was given originally.

They didn't even open the door they simply asked the AI, within sight of the captain, and he shot them to death instantly.

And they had complete control of cargo and the loyalists ended up winning.

Again, they had complete control of cargo. I get your reasoning but his appeal makes it sound like this was a clusterfuck it wasn't. He was alone in a hall with a single dude who only asked the AI to let him into the HoP office.

As you said, he could have let him explain himself (or he could have dragged him to cargo and waited for implants like other loyalists were doing).

He also insisted he was "breaking into" the HoP despite the fact he only asked the AI and never actually got access.

The player who was asking the AI for access to the HoP office was just a guy wanting to make Ian sentient with slime extract. I was of the opinion that asking for access to the HoP office, in front of the captain, via the AI isn't a good enough reason to get killed by the captain instantly without any questioning or whatever. I do want to repeat though, I don't have issue with Sticky lifting the ban.

The thing a lot of players tend to forget is that our perspective is often very different than yours. In some situations what seems like a stupid show of force to us is completely logical to the player.

We're not perfect. When we get it wrong, we try and fix it. S'better than what Goons does.

He wasn't in front of me, I was down near tcomms inspecting the sabotage when I heard him ask the ai to let him in.

Plus he was a scientist, where do you think the bomb that blew up the brig came from?

As I've stressed like, 50 times now both on the forums, IRC and singulo. I understand why this was a bad ban, just explaining my original thought process and intentions. Sorry you got a bad ban Malkevin, won't happen again.

I was just curious as to the logic behind it and if the person involved in the break in was some sort of staff member. It's nice to see admins who are willing to re-think their decisions and to take feedback in a mature manner.
