for those getting into the drama more or less what happened is fallout/13/ ran by Godsring was using tg assets, but keeping them closed source, which is against our license agreement. as such mso filed a DMCA claim against them, which is a copyright infringement notice.

Of everything that makes me the most furious.

Their argument is that people will run their own fallout13 stations using their code and sprites and that this cheapens their effort.

In the meantime they're literally building on top of our code and sprites, all our effort and hard work that we give away freely and allow people to take and run their own tgstation with it's own unique flavour, all we ask in return is that they respect our work and release their own changes back to the community to also benefit from, that's the only reason we use the AGPL license.

Without the tg base they wouldn't have half the game they have, they're basically spitting directly in our face and then trying to play the victim card.

Their stuff is 100% legal, and we respect that.

Respect is not a word I would use, CM are ethically pond sucking scum. Their abusing of a loophole in the GPL license to keep the code closed in a way that violates the intentions of most of the devs who comitted pre the AGPL license is not something I would respect.

edit: sorry I got carried away and thought you said CM, lifeweb and CM are the equivalent in my eyes.
