I reset a branch to this random build from early 2014, compiled and launched the game, which by the way took 1 minute to do from compile to initializations complete.

Then I walled my atmos tech in a 1x1 space and waited 40 minutes. Result: 1% percent nitrogen loss, O2 remained at 20%, CO2 remained at 0% with no gain.
