[saegrimr] Dr.Dre - Unfair ban

Post by Dr.Dre » #24929

Byond account and character name: FoolArcana - Dr.Dre
Banning admin:saegrimr
Ban reason and length:1440 minutes
Time ban was placed (including time zone):Around 06:15 - UTC+02:00

Your side of the story:

I have been playing on this server for like 3 years, i know how to act, i do little fuckups sometimes but admins warn me up and i correct my mistakes, they are not even fatal ones anway. So, i've rolled a CMO, as soon as i start my round, bridge declares they are banning smoking in the station.

Now this is an interesting RP opportunity, there have been bullshit rounds so i've really wanted to have some fun and spice things up a little bit. I declared everyone is welcome in Medbay to smoke and relax. And people take quite a liking to my idea. So i've declared Medbay will be an independent ground and everyone will be able to exercise their liberty in there. Security and Bridge went along with it, so we are RP'ing amongst us, having fun, it was quite fun actually. Then saegrimr intervened, i'm posting the whole conversation here;

So, everyone was having fun, everyone was going along with it, we didn't harm anyone, we even healed the security officers who attacked us, i tried to reason withy saegrimr but he was just not listening to me, i even offered him that i can kill myself or surrender to security, what more could have i done? We were acting around our RP personas at the moment, we were not RP'ing crazy people, we were not RP'ing pervert people. We just declared Medbay as a free land where people can relax and enjoy against the Nanotrasen.

Why you think you should be unbanned:

We are players, sometimes we like to do stuff like that, there is no harm if people are doing whatever they want without harming people around the RP intentions. We named ourselves "Knights of The White" We called Medbay "THE NATION OF WHITE", people shouted from radio about freedom, it was quite refreshing, but saegrimr just kept on messaging me and he banned me even i offered him that i would stop it and kill myself at first.

As i said again, i have been playing in here for like 3 years, i tried other stations but they are so pussified and restrictive against their players. I loved TGStation because it's admins are cool and leveled people. We always had hilarious rounds and they let people do crazy shit most of the times, cause SS13 is that kind of game, it has that kind of spirit, this is why TGStation is precious, this is what admins saw everytime when RP related stuff like that happened.

I'm not writing you because i'm so eager to get my ban lifted, it can stay if you really think i'm at fault but i'm appealing to you, you shouldn't cut people and you shouldn't force people to "have it your way" everytime when they try to do something creative for a chance.

That's all, sorry for the long text.

Good day.

I was the AI that round, I thought you were just blowing smoke... until I saw reinforced walls in the front doors of the Medbay lobby, blocking out, you know, people from using the Medbay. You and your crew repeatedly called for blood, like, murdering Sec officers and rebelling and whatnot. Actually that round as horrifyingly bad and grief-y but I was really shocked at what I was seeing. You cannot call Nations and then make acid and poison or whatever, defend your department like it's Nations, rebel against Sec, wall yourself off... when the admins haven't actually called Nations.

I just honestly never want to see this kind of thing again, it's over the line. We don't let RP override the rules here, otherwise we'd have 'My character's crazy!!11' bombers and whatnot.

I'm sorry man, other people got carried away i accept that but my intentions were good, i didn't call for blood and i'm sure as shit did not wanted a chaos.

And we did not murder sec officers, they bombed us, they murdered us, we even healed them for christ sakes after attacking us.

I'll accept that you weren't trying to grief deliberately, or greytide or whatever, but I'd also like to get an upfront admission from you that calling NATIONS in a round the admins haven't sanctioned it is, always, unacceptable. If we can agree to that, then we could write the whole thing off as a situation getting way out of hand in a shit round.

Also Sec didn't bomb you, those were SYNDICATE warheads that I watched detonate personally. The blast effects are noticably different and your own Geneticists reported it was Syndicate bombs.

Sorry mate, my men told me security was bombing us, i did not see who it was in that confusion, yeah it got out of hand and i'm sorry, i would like to write the whole thing off as you said, if it's possible.

So yes, i admit.

The problem is you kept up with the gimmick long after the first time I started PMing you about why that's a bad idea, and made no effort to stop it. If you're so desperately talking about the RP side of your actions, killing yourself would force them into some ridiculous martyrdom and getting yourself arrested would imply they should greytide the brig and break you out.

You should know that as a head role, people should and will be listening to you. If you tell someone to murder a sec officer and they do it, guess who is else responsible?
I don't think you're exactly ready for the responsibility of head roles, so the job ban is staying. I really hope you can understand why ordering your staff to do things that lead to the deaths of multiple players, either through murder or inability to even get into the medbay, is a bad thing as the CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER.

Theres no rule against creativity, but this is one step short of greytiding in a round that was already hectic and full of ridiculous greytiding.

Edit: I'd like to note that the day ban has been lifted.
