I'm at the point where I welcome anyone to compete with Steam. It so desperately needs it... This can only be a good thing for both gamers and game devs. If it fails, nothing was lost. If it succeeds, then we all benefit.

This would potentially be a thing if it wasn't Facebook doing it.

As it is, Facebook does not really have a stellar reputation

They may not have the reputation, but they sure as heck have the players to kick-start this thing.

Unity also announced it will have native exports for Facebook in version 5.6. At the moment, this thing will probably be competing more with Itch.io, Kongregate, Game Jolt and Newgrounds, but hopefully they try to compete with Steam too.
