Ban type (What are you banned from?): ban on playing on either Sibyl or Basil
Ban reason and length: metacomming - permaban
Time ban was placed (including time zone): 2016 -09 - 01 10:35:50 (we were in pacific time)
Your side of the story:

I was trying to teach my friend how to play SS13, we were in the same house (different rooms). I was walking him through how to do virology (he was a chemist during the round). We were using skype, I didn't think that what we did constituted metacomming at the time, because I was instructing, rather than informing. Now it's clear that my actions were against the rules, but a permaban from a station I really have come to love seems extreme, especially as this is a first time offense and no warning was given.

Why you think you should be unbanned:

I think that I should be unbanned at some point in the future because the nature of my crime wasn't malicious. I was honestly just trying to introduce game mechanics to a new player. I've learned my lesson and wouldn't be inclined to ever repeat the mistake over again. The tg community is one that I love and losing these stations indefinitely is a pretty severe punishment by any standards. I believe that there was a genuine misunderstanding and that had we talked over the circumstances a less drastic course of action could have been taken. Thanks for your time.

Noticed you doing this two rounds in a row, second time it looked like he was helping you spread bad viruses and not a single word between either of you. First time a ling had to take both of you out because you were glued to eachother.

I guess i'll give you two a second chance as long as you both understand how drastic of an unfair advantage this gives you over other players, and to use the in-game chat instead, alright?

Thanks, Saegrimr. Yeah, I understand the severity- we won't play with anything but in game chat anymore (probably will just try to avoid playing on the same servers until he moves out). It won't happen again.
