The stickyban system is broken and does more harm than good

Seriously. I have so many good rounds ruined by getting banned by that shit. Please remove it until it works properly, or the server getting brigaded by evil people.

Edit: Honestly, if some people force you to enable a system that randomly bans half the server every few hours, than the terrorists have won. I rather be maxcapped twice a day than getting banned once.

Stickyban is a byond feature and not ours, it's really effective against evaders.

Maybe you guys are not affected, but the server went from 80 to 30 people or so. It is effective against everyone. Is it really worth it? (Honestly, I dont know if its worth it, I dont have the numbers.) Why not have it on a toggle and enable it only when evaders are trying to grief?

Ive been banned by the system a few times now, but honestly if the system is actually catching the proper users, then im fine with it. The inconvenience of an occasional ban is nothing if the stickyban actually sticks to the shit player who earned it.

I dunno, we are the only server I know with stickyban issues. We either have tons of ban evaders or something isn't setup right.

It's another shitty byond feature, relying on it, even though it does stop the occasional ban evader, causes more harm than good to the player base.

you could just remove bans all together disregarding ghost role bans and have a super fucking beefy security check point with a ban list next to them, then make security to the point where its a kind of steelpoint-wet-dream level security, and then have them kill people who try to pass who are on the ban list. change the name to something like "deportation list" cheeky lizard immigrants need not apply

I have a trick up my sleeve to make the game code automatically detect these false positives and revert the stick bans to before the false positives, i've just been busy coding other projects.

2 admins
5 already connected users
10 users

trigger, then it will revert the state of the sticky ban to what it was before round start.
