instead of 3 miners there should be 4 or 5 miners die way too easy and some of them outright ignore ores plus lavaland is so big

Miners should have all-access IDs and start fully augmented. They also should get c-20 SMGs with infinite ammo cause Lavaland is dangerous so obviously they need all these things and shouldn't be impeded. They should also be able to kill anyone who denies them access to R&D because only an ANTAG would do that obviously.

Miners don't need hardsuits anymore, so we don't need more miner slots.

What would be great is making all assistants miners and just throwing assistants at the lava planet with a fuckload more mobs.

Honestly the suits don't do fuck all considering gulag miners are basically naked with internals and a pick, but yeah theres a ton of extra lockers at the outpost itself full of goodies.

The problem is getting into mining. Most of the time the HoP will shutter their office and people won't let you in to lavaland. Even if they do, you can't open the airlocks. You either have to break windows, walls, or hack doors.

I don't see a problem with streamlining the process by adding 2 more miner slots. Hell, even a public shuttle that travels to lavaland after a minute would be cool.

Also I have vague plans for a public section of the lavaland base and an associated shuttle, but I'm afraid that it will turn into swarms of people just overrunning all the mobs and taking everything not bolted down, like away missions did.

All the monsters right now are balanced for fighting a handful of miners, not a swarm.

I'm not sure how having a ton of people would impact the general feeling of surviving in the wilderness with a couple of friends. It's pretty nice and quiet right now.

Keep it as it is, no need for the dirty station dwellers to be on lavaland. Increase the mining slots to 4 if you really want.

I wish I was that good at coming up with ideas. I also wish I could wish that into existence because it has clearly defined goals and might make a small relationship each round between the miners and the attendant. Packs nutritious sandwiches into labelled lunch boxes. Monkey meat steak for Wyzack, potato crisps for Crag and a legion heart for Kor and a donk pocket for each to keep them healthy and then when they come back they can have ice cream and a manly dorf each!

With a public area, just either set more monsters to spawn there at round start AND have them respawn at a decent pace there. That way people are forced to move on and not stick at the shuttle.

Four miners seems like a good number.

Going off of the isolation feeling I think a fifth miner who's job is to build up the miner home base would be interesting.

This is more a suggestion but I think having the miner home base start off with minimal equipment would be interesting, but a fifth job could expand the base with pre-set tools requiring minerals.

Played two rounds last night where I spawned as an MD and got mining access.

Almost immediately two of them get dunked, finish off the goliath they got low and patched one up on the spot and dragged the other to cloning. Then singulo got loose and ripped clean through the station causing a 25 minute shuttle timer, had to spacewalk multiple times grabbing stranded people and dragged them in a locker to lavaland and patched them up there having a stalker-esque gathering and squatting around some cooked goliath steaks complete with guitar playing. Then we all died trying to get to the escape shuttle once it docked.

Seriously go get access as an MD down there if you're even mildly robust, its good shit.

Now that we have all realized that PVE is fun we should gear the game/station to be more PVE oriented rather than creating lavaland equivalents of each job.

Yeah lavaland bartender would be fun, as would being a doctor with an actual job to do, so why not make that the standard?

When I map planetstation (or trick someone else into doing it) the bartender will have a bar outside the compound walls on his own little island or something it will be very comfy.

Because atmospherics, habitable space constraints, more dangers relating to atmospherics and temperature in general, and a cramped environment where hostile douchebags are forced to be near eachother.

PvE game mode when?

Make it that a large bunch of tendrils shoot out from the planet, impaling the station. Now the crew have to rally to fight off the attacking creatures lest they overrun the station. The longer the tendrils remain fixed in the station the more they corrupt the surrounding area.

That's not a bad idea, but it sounds like something that would be suited for an assistant to do. Go get access from the HOP, gather some supplies, and head down there.

I totally love the idea, but there's already a functioning medical and food portion of the lavaland base but no one to run it. All you really need is hop to give you proper access and you could RP this job on your own, plus you already have almost instant access to materials used to build working machines.

Lava station when? I mean i am semi serious about this. We have talked at length about a planet map, but lavaland addresses a lot of our concerns about making outside the station still dangerous and provides plenty of natural barriers to moving around. We could also connect to other Z's through gates like the one blocking the weather machine.
