From the article DOW3 is more alike to DOW1 with base buidling and large armies, including a smaller variant of Titans.

However "elite" units (Titans, elite units or heros) act more like DOW2 units, with special abilties and alike as well as upgrading.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm kinda turned off by the lack of factions, especially IG, but I'm going to watch this with cautious hope.

Irritated that there's no Chaos at launch. That's damned irritating. Guard and Chaos are always musthaves.

Cautiously optimistic about relic theft as the bloody magpies though. I would be amused if Force Commander Vanilla Ice came back. I wasn't terribly fond of DOW2's gameplay style, but I did like some of the characterization.

100 years is like... 5 minutes in the 40k universe, guy could totally come back. He'll probably tell the Ravens and Eldar to stop fighting, collaborate and listen to his plan of beating the Chaos/Tyranid/Necron threat that was looming behind the Ork threat.

Because that's every Relic plot ever.

That's kinda a modus operandi of all expansive games innit? The sequels come and all the features get rolled back to be added again by dlc's and what not. Though I have my doubts DoW3 will ever get its Soulstorm

Speaking of Soulstorm, anyone wants to play Soulstorm multi?

The devs treated Soulstorm like shit. They let there be a few gamebreaking bugs stay around for months and months after launch and were only finally fixed after a year. The bug in question was that Sisters of Battle could gain infinite requisition by starting and cancelling upgrading a requisition post. They also never addressed a few long-standing balance issues with the game and it majorly pissed off their playerbase.

I can't stand DoW II MP myself. It's just balling up your dudes and running away like a bunch of pussies whenever things look like they're gonna go bad. It makes it so that there's never any actual battle line and turns the whole battlefield into essentially a big merry-go-round because both sides run away rather than actually take losses.

Awesome trailer. Loved the Wraithbone armor and its chitin-ish texture. Titans are interesting, but obviously they can only add the smallest variant of the things. Doubt we will ever have a decent looking game with controllable Imperator Titans.

There's a good rumor going around that there may be a fourth Necron faction.

Many of the quotes used in the trailer are quotes taken straight out of what people in the lore attribute to the Necrons.

Best guess is that either there is a fourth Necron faction, or the game will pull a DoW1 Winter Assault and make the end game big bad buys by the Necrons.
