Besides ctis has enough troops and research you can't really deal with them.

Well I have more research, more gems, and largest army in the game. But I suck at the game, so my research doesn't make sense, gems just sit useless, and army is per unit worse then Lizard.

Also we have non-aggression pact. So good luck. Team up with someone.

Ctis is dead last on research, last I checked. I'm trying to compensate for it, but it's not looking that likely to succeed so far. I've mostly just been casting rituals with my mages and site searching, both of which have so far turned out to be pretty weak
A grand total of 3 gem income has been found over 15 turns

That said I do like my troops. I compensate for the weak magic research with troops but that may be a problem
Also keep in mind your capital fortress is really strong, fully upgraded thing

Ctis has poor innate researchers but as one of the few legitimate early age death nations they can von neumann the shit out of their mages.

I basically don't have any sites, and this map is really light on forrests so I am in a bit of a pickle long term despite how strong I am early game.

I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad

Also, yeah. You really need to be able to expand through independents at least to not get wrecked hard, it can be tricky sometime early on if a stray arrow hits your commander or your morale fails

I could expand before this but I don't know if it was the agarthan start bias on random maps forcing me into caves but I seemed to have less populated and defended provinces around me at the start.

As C'tis, my capital was surrounded by 2x wastes and 2x swamps (With one of the swamps unreachable thanks to a river that will never freeze)
Edit: Also capital itself was a swamp too
I punched a hole through and just conquered the stuff behind it and came back for the capital circle later

Agartha does have a bias for caves though

Do you know what the advantage of a wasteland is? It's higher chance of random magic sites. Random magic sites can't spawn on your capital.

yes there is start bias

some nations will start on certain things.

uh also if you want to expand you should have a go to unit that should be your go to expand unit. It should be cheap and it should eat indies up.

but youre playing EA agartha so everything you have is pretty much garbage. that's the one thing that is constant in EA agartha. everything you have is garbage.

just pile on pale one militias and hope for the best i guess lol

yes because when people are actually there and have to actually open the game and stay connected for it to work means they have their head in it.

pbem is dumb because nobody does their turn after like the 5th or whatever, it's the same in civ and shit.

have an actual lobby game tho and turns go every like 10 minutes or whatever.

We only have a few consistent laggards and I have only missed one turn myself really we should weed out the guys who can't pbem a five or six player game with those that could would have gone much faster.

I have pbemed with other games and llama server is a pretty enormous aid in the endeavour.

Its also obvious that the differences in timezones makes things weird, because when the file gets uploaded has been rotating around times, which is pretty normal.

Blitzes do go much faster regardless though.

Is this an MP game? A common trick with merc mages is to give them a slave collar on parting to ruin them for others after you get what you need.

I was the first to hire this mage, and I'm somewhat sure none of us have blood magic to craft those collars except maybe Pangaea with a lucky random pan
So it has to have been randomly generated as his equipment
