Actually just checked the silicon policy. Turns out that you can in fact demand it.

Any silicon under Asimov can deny orders to allow access to the upload at any time under Law 1 given probable cause to believe that human harm is the intent of the person giving the order (Referred to for the remainder of 2.1.6 simply as "probable cause").
Probable cause includes presence of confirmed traitors, cultists/tomes, nuclear operatives, or any other human acting against the station in general; the person not having upload access for their job; the presence of blood or an openly carried lethal-capable or lethal-only weapon on the requester; or anything else beyond cross-round character, player, or metagame patterns that indicates the person seeking access intends redefinition of humans that would impede likelihood of or ability to follow current laws as-written.
If you lack at least one element of probable cause and you deny upload access, you are liable to receive a warning or a silicon ban.
You are allowed, but not obligated, to deny upload access given probable cause.
You are obligated to disallow an individual you know to be harmful (Head of Security who just executed someone, etc.) from accessing your upload.
In the absence of probable cause, you can still demand someone seeking upload access be accompanied by another trustworthy human or a cyborg.

That's bloody annoying.

It's in place so your average crewmember can't just go "Law 2, let me upload a law" and then the AI gets OneHumaned. If they don't have a good reason to be uploading laws, they're not getting in without being accompanied by someone who does. And "AI, let me in, I'm going to RoboCop you so you can kill the traitors" isn't a good reason.

That seems like it would be covered by the law 1 thing. Only RD and captain have access to upload IIRC. it seems silly to have to ask another person without access to enter an area which you have access to without the AI screeching like a nutjob and having the detective run in and beat you to a pulp.

Worst is Captains who try and PALADIN/RoboCop/freeform "enemies of NanoTrasen are not human, the Captain decides who the enemies are" at roundstart (often before I even remember to bolt the upload). The AI is a neutral third-party who wants to minimise harm, and giving it validhunting laws without justification is awful. Back when NTSL was around, you could set Beepsky to detain mode and mute them from comms, but not any more.

Faint-hearted revolutionaries who baulk at the idea of killing the Chief Medical Officer.

The CMO is the epitome of what is wrong with Nanotrasen: they are a worthless bureaucrat, existing only to promote licentiousness and decay, they ignore their staff, they have no real tasks of their own, they dress in fine clothing and pretend that this makes them better. They are a glorified doctor with no reason to exist. At least the Head of Personnel must be there to give out access, and the Research Director must exist to destroy the false silicons, but the CMO does nothing unique or worthwhile. All they do is lord it over the common people! In a revolution, it must be such aristocrats whose heads adorn revolutionary spears, first and foremost! If you're not getting rid of the people that hoarded resources without contributing themselves, then the revolution has failed. Even a security officer deserves some pity as you cut him down: he serves because he is brainwashed. The CMOs of this world do their self-righteous persecution of their own free will, and should not be allowed a comfortable exile.

When I play CMO I just replace any medbay staff that isn't there that shift/fucked off to do something else (hello chemistry).

Generally I also have to make sure all of my doctors actually know how to use the sleepers/cryo/cloning.

Had this engineer walking into the bar a while ago on Meta. I went to AFK in my backroom to use the bathroom irl, and when I came back the fucker had deconstructed my tables. I tell him to knock that shit off and kick him out of the bar, also leaving myself to go look for some plasteel to repair my tables. When I get back, not finding any plasteel, I see that the fucker had used all of my plasteel on making a fucking laser reflector, so I bottlesmash him into crit. The entire time he's screaming "HELP HANZL EONID KILLING ME BAR HELP" while I'm telling everyone else he's being super shitty while sec grabs him and leaves, not bothering me at all. Eventually he comes back and starts throwing metal rods at me (lol Hippie player) and I shoot him to death with buckshot I'd printed while he was getting healed. He then comes back AGAIN to try to build more fucking reflectors so I bottle smash him to death, strip him in escape, and am just about to space him when I got PM'd by Shaps. Apparently the mongoloid had ahelped this, so I explain it to Shaps, Shaps says he was really shitty, and I go on my way, leaving his corpse a few tiles outside of escape and I never see him alive again.

Yeah they embed and do like 12 throwing damage, so taking a stack and throwing them kills basically everybody, especially since multiple items can embed on the same limb unlike here, where only one can embed in every limb, meaning that they'll bleed like a motherfucker.

If you want to kill someone in an amusing way as a chemist, then simply make one needle full of 2/3rds the materials for the expanding fireball, and another with one 1/3 and morphine, then tag them and yakety around them until they drop, shoot them with the other one and they're ash inside a minute.

Perma them, don't talk about the execution on sec channel, get RD over PDA to change AIs laws, ahelp if it doesn't let the head (possibly with another head as a guarantor) into the upload. Then execute.

If you really have to execute someone with an Asimov AI around, distract the AI (have an Officer go "Hey, AI, track {person}"), then shoot them five times with a laser and bodybag them. Or just don't execute people, which is another good option.
