Wizard Spell bundles
Traitors have a syndicate bundle, which gives extra TC for a preset bundle, meant to accomplish something specific.
This could be done with wizards, give new players an idea of what kinds of spells to pick, and give usage to spells that aren't picked very often but should see use, like smoke or blind or mindswap.

Or more seriously, the necromantic stones, because nobody ever uses them

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
I saw it used once with a staff of healing.
It was just as horrible as it sounds.
Took a suicide bomb to stop.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Apprentices already get bundles similar to this when they're selected; maybe just take those and beef them out a little. Spread the most-used spells (Lich, MM, Ei Nath) across different bundles, so you can only get one at a time.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
The bundles should probably only take up MOST of a wizard's spell points rather than all. Otherwise, each bundle would need to have at least 2 survivability tools to be picked, which cuts down on cool thematic things.
(Note: I say 2 because that's what most people take. On the rare occasions I get wizard I generally take an upgraded fireball and spend all the remaining slots on being hard to kill.)

In game, I play the A.I Firmware, the French cyborg C.U.R.I.E, Aubrie Allen, and the lizard scum Skulks-Through-Maintenance.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Bundles suck unless they are given out random
Bundles you can buy just limit your freedom by forcing you to buy items together.
It's why I severely dislike the syndicate gun bundles, let people put together their own gear instead of forcing them down a path.

You already can buy your gear separately, you just don't get as much of it. You trade your freedom in choosing items for more stuff.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Yes that is exactly what I am saying and its a bad concept. It simply limits the amount of variety we will see because items not in a bundle are less cost effective.TheNightingale wrote:You already can buy your gear separately, you just don't get as much of it. Yes, but you are more likely to get spells which aren't considered to be "good" in the Wizard playing meta.CPTANT wrote:Yes that is exactly what I am saying and its a bad concept. Re: Wizard Spell bundles
wizards are already brokenly OP as it is, and we can already alter the costs of specific spells. Please no bundles.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
No they fucking ain't wizards get curb stomped routinely.
Bundles don't really work for wizards though the reason to even risk it for traitors isn't just a chance to get extra points of stuff but normally unavailable items so the spell bundle would need new content too.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Wizards get curb stomped routinely due to player skill, not due to lack of competitive spells.
A competent wizard with MM/jaunt/lightning/repulse/etc is extremely difficult to kill without a bomb or som rapedart to the face.
Even just a classic ei'nath wiz can slowly grind down even a huge crew if they're a sneaky git.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Even with a cookie cutter build like that it can still be a toss up.
They aren't meant to 1v1 duel you anyway stop being childish.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
You're right. You aren't meant to 1v1 a wizard and come out on top. You're meant to 1v10 a wizard who's going full tryhard, which isn't feasible a lot of the time.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
With the first build you can stun people basically non stop and just murder people with no hope of them getting you unless they literally keep swarming you with 30 people non stop.
classic ei'nath is just jaunt into room, MM and ei'nath, then hide back in maint until ei'nath is off recharge.

Re: Wizard Spell bundles
Wizard as a mode is at its best when people aren't trying to go for the most effective builds. It leads to VERY interesting rounds, some of the best in the game period.
